One of the lies that Russia has been spreading is to claim the death of foreign soldiers when the Russians attack civilian buildings in Ukraine<\/strong>. Following this attack, pro-Russian propaganda networks began to spread the word that French soldiers had been killed<\/strong>, even claiming that more French soldiers were dying in Ukraine than in the Algerian War<\/a>, as a well-known retired Spanish colonel recently claimed, attributing this information to sources he has known for 30 years.<\/p>\n SVR hoax alleging death of French soldiers in Ukraine<\/big><\/p>\n On July 11, Spanish tweeter @Eduardo_dlma published a report from the SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service,<\/a> which made the same reference to the Algerian War<\/strong>: \"As the French Ministry of the Armed Forces unofficially admits, the country has not suffered similar losses abroad since the Algerian War in the second half of the 20th century.\"<\/em> This is clearly a ridiculous lie.<\/strong> Furthermore, the alleged deployment of French troops in Ukraine has been officially denied by France<\/a>.<\/p>\n This Friday, the Spanish tweeter @TuiteroMartin<\/a>, who publishes daily highly rigorous information based on open sources about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, posted the link to the official SVR document<\/a> revealed by @Eduardo_dlma on July 11. The document is dated March 19 and was issued by the SVR press office.<\/p>\n The path taken by the hoaxes issued by the SVR<\/big><\/p>\n This hoax serves to reveal how the lies spread by the Kremlin work. First the SVR spreads the hoax<\/a>, which is shared for months by pro-Russian propaganda networks in the West, and when they get someone relevant to share it, like that Spanish colonel in reserve<\/strong>, the pro-Russian networks spread it again, emphasizing that it is a NATO commander who says it<\/a>, as @Eduardo_dlma pointed out some days ago.<\/p>\n The inaction of the Spanish government in the face of these events<\/big><\/p>\n The obvious question that comes to mind is: Does the Ministry of Defense have anything to say about the fact that a retired colonel is spreading SVR lies?<\/strong> A soldier in the reserve is subject to military discipline, unlike retired soldiers.
