As a blogger, one of the reasons I tend to avoid defining myself as a journalist is because I see what some people do with journalism.<\/p>\n
Journalism is a necessary profession in a democracy, because it serves to oversee the actions of those in power, but the dependence of many media on subsidies, and particularly on institutional advertising, produces monsters<\/strong> and ends up destroying the prestige of some media that I previously admired.<\/p>\n An example of this is Libertad Digital<\/strong>. What began as a reference medium for Spanish liberalism has ended up becoming a media lackey of the Popular Party<\/strong>, especially due to the increasingly groveling attitude of the owner of that medium, Federico Jim\u00e9nez Losantos<\/strong>, whose infamies against Vox have reached the nauseating extreme accusing the party of Abascal, Ortega Lara and Alcaraz of being \"the tool of ETA\"<\/a>, an attack as miserable and at the same time stupid as calling a Jew \"Nazi\". Only in the most extreme left-wing media can you find such a level of hatred against Vox.<\/strong><\/p>\n Yesterday, the latest deposition (I refuse to call it news) by Libertad Digital against Vox was a disgusting pamphlet claiming that Vox has abandoned the Venezuelan opposition<\/a>. The shameful text is an example of how ridiculous hatred and lies can be<\/strong>. In recent years, no other Spanish political party has done as much as Vox to support the Venezuelan opposition. In fact, Venezuelan opponents have come out in defense of Vox against Libertad Digital's attacks<\/a>. I will limit myself to quoting part of what was published by the Venezuelan writer Emmanuel Rinc\u00f3n<\/strong> on his Twitter account<\/a>:<\/p>\n \"I am very sorry for what Libertad Digital has done with this article<\/strong>, because there are people there whom I appreciate; but this is shameful.<\/p>\n When Maduro started threatening me weeks ago, it was the people from Vox who offered me their support, no one from the PP contacted me.<\/strong><\/p>\n On the other hand, in the European Parliament, it has been the members of VOX who have raised their voices in favor of Venezuela, while the PP has been voting with the PSOE<\/strong> on crucial issues for Latin America and Europe.<\/p>\n I insist that there are many valuable people in the PP<\/strong>, in this media and other Spanish organizations that used to defend the values \u200b\u200bof the right, but they are increasingly similar to the PSOE<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The paradox is that this pile of garbage from LD against Vox has its origin in Vox's refusal to whitewash a new electoral fraud in Venezuela<\/strong>.
