This week, <strong>\u00c1ngel has published a very interesting video about the work of the EF-18 fighter plane mechanics of the Ala 12 (12th Wing)<\/strong> at the Torrej\u00f3n de Ardoz Air Base in Madrid. You can watch it here (the video is in Spanish, you can activate automatic English subtitles in the bottom bar of the player):<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"El CORAZ\u00d3N de un F-18 | \u00bfConoc\u00edas TODO ESTO sobre su MOTOR?\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g0GBJv6mkEA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This video focuses on <strong>the work of the engineers and mechanics in charge of the maintenance of the two General Electric F404-GE-400 engines<\/strong> that each of these aircraft carries, a difficult task due to the complexity of these turbofan engines and also because of their age, since these aircraft arrived in Spain decades ago. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/05\/04\/a-video-shows-the-process-of-removing-an-engine-from-a-spanish-ef-18m-hornet-fighter\/\">In May we saw here how one of these engines is extracted.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53997428378_07941de435_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In one of the most interesting parts of this video <strong>we see \u00c1ngel attending a ground test of the afterburning of these engines<\/strong>, a deafening experience in which the YouTuber could not only notice <strong>the brutal noise<\/strong> generated by the engine at its maximum power, but also <strong>the pressure wave generated by the jet from the reactor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53997617045_4e1e6145f8_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The second part of the video shows us <strong>the complex work of engine maintenance, with its different parts<\/strong>.
