E Like the Islamist terrorists in Gaza, Hezbollah terrorists have long been launching constant attacks against the civilian population of Israel from Lebanon, trying to provoke an Israeli response and then pretend to be the victims of the conflict: the same strategy as Hamas in Gaza.

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi at a meeting with the Druze community of Majdal Shams following the Hezbollah terror attack on July 27, 2024 (Photo: Israel Defense Forces).

With the Israeli counteroffensive against Hamas foreseeable and imminent, almost 3,000 Hezbollah terrorists were injured or killed yesterday by pager explosions. Many terrorists who were not killed were left with their hands or genitals mangled, due to the habit of carrying these devices in their pockets. One of the injured is Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, which places him as part of the Hezbollah terrorist network.

What we know about this operation is that Hezbollah obtained a large batch of pagers in the belief that Israel could spy on the mobile phones used by that terrorist group. The Mossad, one of Israel's intelligence services and specifically the one in charge of counterterrorism, would have managed to put explosives in these pagers before they were handed over to Hezbollah. These explosives would have been activated by a message that was sent simultaneously to the entire network of that Islamist terrorist group.

The moments after the Hezbollah terrorist attack against the Israeli Druze community of Majdal Shams (Photo: AP/Hassan Shams).

Although Israel has not claimed any responsibility, in keeping with its usual policy, yesterday's operation was the largest simultaneous anti-terrorist operation in the entire history of the fight against organized crime. No other police or intelligence service in any other country had managed to strike such an effective blow against a terrorist group and in such a coordinated manner. In addition, this anti-terrorist operation will allow Israel to map the entire Hezbollah network, collecting data on the hospital admissions of terrorists who have been affected by these explosions in Lebanon. This is one of the greatest successes of the Mossad in its entire history.

Photos of the Druze children killed by Hezbollah in their terrorist attack against Majdal Shams (Photo: Michael Giladi/Flash90).

This success also means that Hezbollah’s network has been seriously damaged, especially its leadership, which we now know included Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon. Even if they want to recover from this severe blow, the Hamas terrorists who have survived have reasons not to want to go near any other electronic device ever again, a paranoia that could force this Islamist criminal group to resort to methods as sophisticated as carrier pigeons for its communications.

Whatever the case, this anti-terrorist operation is an act of justice for the 12 Druze children killed by Hezbollah in Majdal Shams and sends a clear message to the terrorists: no matter where you hide or how long you manage to escape, Israel will eventually find you.

---

Main photo: Reuters.
