The Boeing CH-47F Chinook is the most modern version of a heavy helicopter introduced in 1962 and operated by 21 countries today.<\/p>\n

Two days ago, the US Armed Forces' multimedia portal DVIDShub.net published a series of photos<\/a> taken at Al Asad Air Base in Iraq on April 26, on the occasion of a curious meeting of CH-47Fs from four different countries: Spain, Canada, the United States and the Netherlands<\/strong> (click on the photos to see them enlarged).<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The photos were taken by Sergeant Vincent Levelev, of the US Army.<\/strong> They show, from left to right, the CH-47F of Spain, the one from the United States, the one from Canada and the one from the Netherlands. These four countries are in Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) to train the Iraqi Army in its fight against ISIS terrorists.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can see below four enlargements of one of these photos showing each of these helicopters.<\/p>\n

The Spanish CH-47F. It is the HT.17-30A ET-430.<\/strong> It belongs to the V Transport Helicopter Battalion (BHELTRA V) of the Army Air Forces (FAMET). It is operated in Iraq by the Spanish detachment, called Task Force Toro<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The US CH-47F. It is the 13-08137.<\/strong> It belongs to the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, part of the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army. It is operated in Iraq by the Task Force Cardinal<\/strong>. In front of the helicopter we see two Spanish soldiers with a national flag with the emblem of the Task Force Toro.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The Canadian CH-47F<\/strong> (designated CH-147F in Canada). I can't read the entire number. It belongs to the 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron of the 1 Wing Kingston of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Next to the helicopter we see a Dutch airman.<\/p>\n

The Dutch CH-47F. It is the D-484.<\/strong> It belongs to the 298 Squadron of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
