I am a Spanish citizen who loves his country, but I feel ashamed of the political class we have, with a few honourable exceptions.<\/p>\n
A massive attack with 181 Iranian missiles<\/big><\/p>\n This Tuesday, the Iranian terrorist regime launched 181 missiles against the people of Israel<\/a>, in an unprecedented attack that sought to sow death and terror among the civilian population of that country indiscriminately. The attack killed one person, a Palestinian, in Jericho.<\/strong> If its effects have not been bloodier, it is exclusively thanks to Israeli air defenses, which managed to shoot down most of the Iranian missiles aimed at populated areas.<\/p>\n Israel's strong support for Spain after the Islamist attacks in 2017<\/big><\/p>\n Israel is not the only country that has suffered from Islamist terrorism.<\/strong> Spain has also suffered. Let us recall, without going any further, the Islamist attacks of August 17, 2017 in Catalonia<\/a>. I would like to recall how the State of Israel reacted to that attack. That same day,<\/strong> Israeli President Reuven Rivlin wrote a letter to King Felipe VI of Spain<\/a>, in which he told him the following:<\/p>\n \"Our hearts and thoughts at this difficult time are with the people of Spain.<\/strong> Sadly, we in Israel are no strangers to the horror and suffering caused by these criminal attacks, and we can truly understand the pain you are feeling at this time.<\/p>\n Terrorism is terrorism is terrorism, whether it happens in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bParis, Istanbul or Jerusalem.<\/strong> These appalling events prove once again that we must remain united in the fight against those who seek to use violence to attack individual freedom and freedom of thought and belief<\/strong>, and who continue to destroy the lives of so many.<\/p>\n The citizens of Israel share with me the mourning for the sad loss of life<\/strong> and the suffering.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Furthermore, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanhyahu stated<\/a>:<\/p>\n \"On behalf of the citizens of Israel, I send my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives<\/strong> and wish a speedy recovery to those injured. This evening we have seen once again that terrorism strikes everywhere; the civilized world must fight against it together to defeat it<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Following the attacks in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bTel Aviv City Hall was lit up in the colors of the Spanish flag<\/a> in support of our country. In addition, the Israeli Embassy in Spain flew its flag at half-mast<\/a> in solidarity with our country. With these gestures, Israel clearly expressed its support for Spain in a time of pain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The cold and terse messages of the S\u00e1nchez government on the Iranian attack<\/big><\/p>\n Yesterday, after the massive Iranian attack on Israel<\/strong>, which forced 10 million Israeli citizens (Jews, Christians, Muslims and Druze) to flee, the government of Pedro S\u00e1nchez issued a very brief and cold note<\/a> (only 26 words, in Spanish) in which it did not even show its support for Israel:<\/strong><\/p>\n \"The Government strongly condemns Iran's bombing of Israel tonight.<\/p>\n The international community must immediately mobilize to stop the regional escalation with unforeseeable consequences.\"\u200b<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Spanish government's note condemning Israel's attack on Hezbollah terrorists<\/a> a few days ago was much longer (105 words). Apparently, Israel's counterattack against a terrorist organization that has been attacking Israel for 11 months bothered S\u00e1nchez's government much more than yesterday's Iranian attack on Israel. In fact, S\u00e1nchez published an equally lukewarm message yesterday<\/a> condemning the attack but without showing his support for Israel.<\/p>\n PSOE, PP and Sumar remain silent and Podemos acts again as a puppet of Iran<\/big><\/p>\n The response from the rest of the Spanish political class has not been much better. The PSOE, the Popular Party and Sumar have not said anything about the Iranian attack<\/strong> on their official Twitter channel. In turn, Podemos has accused Israel of being terrorist<\/a> and has accused Europe and the US of being responsible for this \"escalation of war.\" Not a single condemnation of Iran.<\/strong> Nothing strange, considering that the founder of Podemos acknowledged that he allowed himself to be used by the Iranian dictatorship to destabilize Spain<\/a>.<\/p>\n Vox was the only Spanish political party that expressed its support for Israel<\/big><\/p>\n
