In fact, we must not forget that in March 2021 and during a vote also carried out in Congress, Sánchez and his allies voted against the European condemnation of the crimes of nazism and communism, refusing to condemn crimes of genocide. It is the same left that now wants to persecute admirers of Franco by appealing to "democratic memory".

Only Vox voted against the socialist initiative: the PP supported it

The consideration of this bill was approved by 314 votes in favour and 33 against (in addition, 3 deputies did not take part in the vote). You can see here what each deputy voted for. As has happened before with the ideological laws of the left, the Popular Party supported this socialist proposition and only Vox voted against it. Curiously, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, was one of the three deputies who did not participate in the vote (the other two were the socialist Pedro Sánchez and the communist Yolanda Díaz).

So, if this bill is approved, if in Spain communist organisations are given free rein to praise their dictatorships and humiliate their victims, while anyone who does the same with Franco's dictatorship will be subject to persecution, it is because the PP continues to insist on being the left's useful idiot, in this case helping socialists and communists to impose their biased and sectarian vision of history on us all.

Meanwhile, Sánchez allows hundreds of tributes to ETA terrorists

Finally, we must remember that the same socialists who demand that the apology for Francoism be punished are those who grant total impunity to hundreds of tributes to ETA terrorists every year, tributes that are being organized by their parliamentary allies. They are also the same socialists who seek to legalize the crime of glorifying terrorism, claiming that it is "freedom of speech." For the left, dictators, terrorists and criminals only deserve rejection if they are not socialists or communists. That is why Sánchez and his allies have systematically refused to condemn the crimes of communism, and why the PSOE maintains cordial relations with the Communist Party of China, the sole party of the world's largest dictatorship, an anti-democratic regime that has murdered millions of people.

---

Photo: Efe.
