Like most legends, this one has a logical explanation: <strong>there is probably a rusty pipe above the tunnel vault<\/strong> and the rust is the reason why the water falls with a reddish colour. <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/gPEebejPcmfCFGey8\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Here you can see the western access to the tunnel on Google Maps<\/a>, in images taken in May 2012, before this tunnel was closed to vehicle traffic:<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!4v1729455470834!6m8!1m7!1sqFQ6XvJ0cbNmI-PFbdEOhQ!2m2!1d40.34675505946485!2d-79.89871826556684!3f111.19925194707538!4f7.753566181187736!5f0.9597891120772322\" width=\"665\" height=\"450\" style=\"border:0;\" allowfullscreen=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Another mystery at this site is very close to the tunnel: the so-called \"Door to Nowhere.\"<\/strong> It is a large concrete door that is sealed, with no known clue as to what was behind it. <strong>At the bottom of the door there is an opening several centimeters wide,<\/strong> through which it is impossible to access.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54081318518_a2fec842fb_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">La \"puerta a ninguna parte\" en la Curry Hollow Road, en Pensilvania (Foto: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=889958171023597&id=237114536307967&set=a.272269082792512\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Abandoned, Old & Interesting Places - Western PA<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>On October 26, 2014, a Facebook page about abandoned places in western Pennsylvania <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=889958171023597&id=237114536307967&set=a.272269082792512\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">posted a photo of this door<\/a>, stating:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\"<strong>We have no idea where it led to or what it was used for. Interestingly, there is a second door<\/strong>, just like the first, further up the hill and angled sideways. <strong>These doors into the hillside are on the property that once belonged to the General Motors\/Fischer Body plant on Lebanon School Road.<\/strong> The plant has been closed and torn down within the past few years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On multiple occasions we, and friends that were with us, heard a dog barking<\/strong>, from what sounded like, inside the door. On other occasions we heard nothing. <strong>There are no houses near enough that we should have heard a dog barking<\/strong> like we did.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The most puzzling thing about this door to nowhere is that, according to the Facebook page, <strong>after 2012 someone put a fence and no-entry signs around the door<\/strong>. What's the point of protecting a sealed door that leads nowhere like that?
