The importance of principles in politics and the consequences of lacking them<\/a><\/rel>
\nWhat do the supporters of dictatorships owe to those criminal regimes they support?<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

It is common to read this type of message, for example, when Vox or one of its leaders publish something supporting Israel or Ukraine, two countries that have suffered brutal attacks by terrorist organizations<\/strong>, Hamas in the first case and the Russian State in the second, with massacres of civilians in the face of which any decent person should feel solidarity with those attacked<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The authors of such messages seem to suggest that a political party should submit to the immoral toll of some of its voters<\/strong>, avoiding taking sides for Ukraine or Israel for fear of angering Putinists and anti-Semites. Leaving aside the numerical significance of Putin and Hamas fans on the right (a noisy minority)<\/strong>, should a political party submit to the demands of those who support a tyrant or a terrorist group?<\/p>\n

Even if Putinists and anti-Semites were the majority on the right, which they are not,<\/strong> jumping through that hoop would undermine the credibility of a party that claims to have solid principles. Therefore, it is appreciated that Vox has not given in to these voices and continues to support Israel and Ukraine<\/strong>, even if that displeases the anti-Semites and Putinists. The same can be said of any other party or media outlet<\/strong> that has received the same type of messages and has decided to ignore them. We must defend Good and Justice at all costs<\/strong>, even if that provokes the anger of some.<\/p>\n

As far as I'm concerned, posting criticism of Putin has long cost me followers on Twitter<\/strong>, Telegram and Facebook, as well as email subscribers. I don't care.<\/strong> What would keep me from sleeping would be to submit to that immoral toll and stop criticizing a criminal tyrant like Putin so as not to lose readers: never<\/strong>. I consider those followers or readers to be completely lost.<\/p>\n

When I say that I defend Liberty against tyranny, what I say is applicable to Russia, Iran, Cuba, China, Korea or Venezuela<\/strong>. I have my principles very clear and one of them, the defense of Liberty, has a very clear red line: never support any tyrant, whatever the cost<\/strong>. In the dictatorships mentioned, expressing opinions contrary to the political power can lead to being sent to prison or even being killed. Let's see with what moral authority I, from a democratic country, could be afraid of losing some followers for criticizing dictatorships like these<\/strong>, when others risk their freedom and even their lives to do the same.<\/p>\n

The same can be said about any of the other principles I defend. I will not give up defending life against abortion<\/strong> simply because some have assumed the culture of death and may be uncomfortable with me. I will not stop defending linguistic freedom<\/strong> simply because some have allowed themselves to be tarnished by the linguistic nationalism that prevails in regions such as Galicia. I will not stop defending the historical legacy of Spain<\/strong> simply because some have swallowed the lies of the anti-Spanish black legend. And I will not stop defending my Christian beliefs<\/strong> simply because some consider me a reactionary for it.<\/p>\n

My goal in this life is not to be liked by everyone<\/strong>, as if popularity and fame (two things that have never mattered to me) were above everything else. My goal is not to gain an audience by giving up my principles.<\/strong> I created this site to defend very clear principles through words, to offer good arguments to support these causes and to tell what others do not want to tell. If all that means losing followers, I'll gladly accept it.<\/strong> I prefer that to giving up my integrity.<\/p>\n
