After modernizing the remaining CH-47Cs to the Delta version, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/10\/15\/boeing-delivers-17th-ch-47f-chinook-helicopter-to-spain-and-announces-one-more-unit\/\">Boeing has recently completed the modernization process of this fleet to the Foxtrot version, the CH-47F<\/a>, a process in which all possible components of those 17 helicopters have been used.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53718912241_f930a5672a_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">A Spanish CH-47F, the HT.17-24A (ET-425), on an exercise in Romania in May 2024 (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Deutsches_Heer\/status\/1789897146470199639\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deutsches Heer<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p><strong>The unit that brings together the FAMET Chinooks is the V Transport Helicopter Battalion (BHELTRA V) ,<\/strong> which operates from the \"Coronel Mat\u00e9\" Base in Colmenar Viejo, Madrid. <strong>The CH-47Fs are the largest and heaviest helicopters in the Spanish Armed Forces.<\/strong> They can transport up to 55 soldiers, or 24 stretchers if used in medical evacuation missions. Currently, the FAMET have two CH-47Fs deployed in Iraq with the Task Force \"Toro\", being the most remote mission that these aircraft have taken on.
