There has been heavy rain, tornadoes, flooding and overflowing rivers, and <strong>many people have been trapped in towns and on highways for hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the midst of this catastrophe, <strong>we must highlight the outstanding performance of the emergency services, the Fire Department, the Civil Guard, the Military Emergency Unit, the Army and the Local Police<\/strong>, who have acted beyond their duty, in some cases even risking their lives to rescue other people. Once again, <strong>they have shown us that we have many reasons to be proud of them<\/strong> and that in the worst moments, when they are most needed, they are always there to serve and help the Spanish people.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n hay que reconocer <strong>la labor de los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n que han sabido estar a la altura de las circunstancias<\/strong>, demostrando que a\u00fan quedan periodistas con verdadera vocaci\u00f3n. En concreto, <strong>quiero destacar la labor informativa hecha ayer por Antena 3<\/strong> (que dedic\u00f3 todo su informativo de las 21:00 horas a hablar sobre esta cat\u00e1strofe) <strong>y sobre todo del canal Cuatro<\/strong>, cuyo programa C\u00f3digo 10 hizo una excelente cobertura que incluso continu\u00f3 en el programa deportivo que ven\u00eda despu\u00e9s. <strong>Los que he mencionado son dos medios privados pero que han hecho una verdadera labor de servicio p\u00fablico<\/strong> en una jornada en la que muchos espa\u00f1oles han vivido una situaci\u00f3n terrible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>En el lado opuesto tenemos el caso de Televisi\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola.<\/strong> Ayer, su programa informativo de las 21:00 horas zanj\u00f3 la cat\u00e1strofe de la gota fr\u00eda en <strong>menos de 12 minutos<\/strong> y despu\u00e9s se puso a hablar de la actualidad pol\u00edtica como si nada hubiese pasado. A continuaci\u00f3n, <strong>TVE emiti\u00f3 la pel\u00edcula apocal\u00edptica \"2012\", como si fuese una broma pesada<\/strong> mientras muchos lugares de Espa\u00f1a viv\u00edan unos momentos dram\u00e1ticos. <\/p>\n<p>A primera hora de la madrugada pas\u00e9 a TVE 1 y <strong>su tertulia estaba hablando sobre... Israel y Gaza<\/strong>. TVE es un grupo de comunicaci\u00f3n p\u00fablico sostenido con el dinero de todos los espa\u00f1oles. <strong>Ayer era el momento de demostrar que era un servicio p\u00fablico, y lo que hizo, sin embargo, fue una vergonzosa cobertura.<\/strong> Para hacer algo as\u00ed, mejor que cierren TVE y nos ahorren a los espa\u00f1oles el dineral que nos cuesta.<\/p>\n<p>Para terminar, quiero recordar que muchos vienen criticando <strong>Twitter<\/strong> por las razones m\u00e1s variadas, exigiendo que sea censurada, pero <strong>ayer esta red social se convirti\u00f3 en un medio de comunicaci\u00f3n formidable para transmitir lo que estaba pasando en las zonas afectadas<\/strong>, gracias a los v\u00eddeos grabados en cada sitio por muchas personas.
