Portuguese socialist Ant\u00f3nio Guterres seems determined to turn his mandate as UN Secretary-General into a constant scandal.<\/p>\n

The infamy of the UN: it invokes against Israel the article that it has never invoked against Russia<\/a><\/rel>
\nThe United Nations' contribution to Hamas disinformation and its bias against Israel<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

First there was his contribution to Hamas disinformation<\/a> following that terrorist group's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and then came its double standard applying to Israel (an attacked country) a rigor that it did not apply against Russia (the aggressor country)<\/a>. Not to mention, of course, his servile attitude towards Russian dictator Vladimir Putin<\/a> at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese socialist's latest controversy so far concerns the wave of anti-Semitic violence unleashed by Palestinian Nazis in Amsterdam<\/a> on Thursday, November 7, in which Israeli citizens were persecuted in a clear example of a pogrom in the 21st century<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, the UN website published Guterres' response<\/a> to a question posed at a press conference: \"in response to questions we have received earlier today, I can tell you that the Secretary-General was shocked by the violence in Amsterdam<\/strong> following the football match between Dutch and Israeli teams. He condemns all forms of antisemitism and anti-Muslim bigotry.<\/strong>\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Guterres' condemnation is astonishing. What happened in Amsterdam was a wave of violence against Jews perpetrated by Muslims<\/strong>, mostly immigrants from Islamic countries. A wave of violence close, by the way, to the anniversary of the Night of Broken Glass<\/strong>, perpetrated by the Nazis in Germany on the night of 9-10 November 1938, and during which the Jewish community in that country experienced a wave of violence and terror that was a clear foreshadowing of the Holocaust that would come later.<\/p>\n

Guterres' statement yesterday is as if, after Kristallnacht, he had condemned \"anti-Semitism and anti-Nazi bigotry.\"<\/strong> Just like his statements last year on the war provoked by Hamas in the Middle East, what Guterres is doing is a way of equating aggressors and victims, once again<\/strong>. The UN has had some very deplorable secretaries-general, but this Portuguese socialist seems determined to surpass all his predecessors in vileness.<\/p>\n
