{"id":57860,"date":"2024-11-24T18:51:30","date_gmt":"2024-11-24T17:51:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=57860"},"modified":"2024-11-26T18:53:39","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T17:53:39","slug":"some-of-the-hoaxes-from-the-newspaper-el-pais-which-is-now-warning-us-against-misinformation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/11\/24\/some-of-the-hoaxes-from-the-newspaper-el-pais-which-is-now-warning-us-against-misinformation\/","title":{"rendered":"Some of the hoaxes from the newspaper El Pa\u00eds, which is now warning us against 'misinformation'"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\"The age of disinformation.\" The socialist newspaper El Pa\u00eds headlines its Sunday front page in large letters <a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/hemeroteca\/elpais\/portadas\/2024\/11\/24\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with this headline<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/11\/12\/does-the-socialist-newspaper-el-pais-want-the-state-to-censor-private-conversations\/\">Does the socialist newspaper El Pa\u00eds want the State to censor private conversations?<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/07\/09\/the-francoist-origin-of-el-pais-which-labels-as-francoist-those-who-think-differently\/\">The Francoist origin of El Pa\u00eds, which labels as 'Francoist' those who think differently<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>Just below that headline, <strong>El Pa\u00eds warns against \"alternative stories\" and \"hoaxes\"<\/strong> and says that the \"lie industry\" is growing <em>\"hand in hand with networks and influencers in search of money and powerful elites.\"<\/em> <strong>The statement is very funny coming from a newspaper that is close to the government<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/07\/09\/the-francoist-origin-of-el-pais-which-labels-as-francoist-those-who-think-differently\/\">whose founder made a fortune thanks to Franco's dictatorship<\/a>, later becoming the unofficial bulletin of the Socialist Party and the great defender of that party's governments. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/10\/26\/the-cnmv-report-that-indicates-why-el-pais-treats-israel-with-so-much-hostility\/\">Today, among its shareholders is an influential relative of the Emir of Qatar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Seeing El Pa\u00eds warn against \"disinformation\" and \"hoaxes\" <strong>is as surreal as if the PSOE were warning against political corruption<\/strong>. In fact, much of the history of the socialist newspaper has been based on manipulating, distorting and hiding information in the service of power, often publishing lies against all those who do not agree with socialist ideological dogmas. In all these years, <strong>we have seen El Pa\u00eds do things like these:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/10\/09\/el-pais-miente-vox-si-se-acordo-de-antonio-machado-garcia-lorca-y-picasso-en-viva-22\/\">Lying about a Vox event, claiming that he did not remember Antonio Machado, Garc\u00eda Lorca and Picasso<\/a>, despite the fact that those three people were mentioned at that Vox event.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2018\/05\/09\/el-pais-reescribe-la-historia-llama-franquistas-a-personas-que-murieron-antes-del-franquismo\/\">Calling people who died before Franco's regime \"Francoists\"<\/a>, in an attempt to eradicate the names of people murdered by the left from street names and public places.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/07\/05\/la-izquierda-disfraza-el-asesinato-de-una-nina-recien-nacida-como-un-aborto-para-promoverlo\/\">Classifying the murder of a newborn girl by her mother as a pregnancy loss<\/a>, as part of a campaign to promote abortion in El Salvador.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/07\/13\/un-diario-progresista-senala-a-las-familias-con-hijos-como-responsables-del-cambio-climatico\/\">Blaming large families for climate change<\/a>, as part of a systematic campaign by the newspaper to criminalize births.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2021\/11\/01\/el-burdo-libelo-de-el-pais-para-mostrar-a-los-provida-como-secuestradores-y-acosadores\/\">Publish a libel to characterize pro-lifers as kidnappers and harassers<\/a>, simply for offering free ultrasounds to women seeking abortions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/05\/17\/pensamiento-unico-el-pais-llama-machistas-a-las-mujeres-que-declaran-no-ser-feministas\/\">Labeling women who do not declare themselves feminists as \"machist\"<\/a>, within the framework of the socialist newspaper's desire to impose its ideology as a kind of single thought.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2017\/03\/29\/el-pais-se-enfada-con-polonia-por-documentar-que-los-guardias-de-auschwitz-eran-alemanes\/\">Attacking Poland for documenting that the Auschwitz guards were German<\/a>, within the framework of a constant campaign of hatred against the Polish nation for being a Catholic country.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2015\/08\/13\/el-pais-culpa-al-capitalismo-salvaje-del-caos-del-socialismo-chavista-en-venezuela\/\">Blaming \"savage capitalism\" for the chaos caused by socialism in Venezuela<\/a>, in an attempt to disassociate that ideology from the consequences of its actions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2013\/09\/26\/el-vaticano-desmiente-el-bulo-de-el-pais-de-que-el-papa-haria-cardenal-a-una-mujer\/\">Spreading the rumour that the Pope would make a woman a cardinal<\/a>, a rumour denied by the Vatican itself.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2013\/06\/02\/el-pais-los-fetos-humanos-no-son-humanos-pero-los-huevos-de-tortuga-si-son-tortugas\/\">Denying that human fetuses are human<\/a>, as if women conceived beings of another species, within the framework of that newspaper's constant support for the promotion of abortion.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2013\/05\/31\/ocho-mentiras-de-el-pais-para-promover-el-aborto-en-el-salvador-con-el-caso-beatriz\/\">Launching a campaign of lies to promote the legalization of abortion in El Salvador<\/a>, something that is already a tradition in the pro-abortion lobby.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2013\/05\/13\/el-pais-clasifica-como-ultras-a-38-millones-de-discapacitados-por-rechazar-la-eugenesia\/\">Calling those who reject eugenic abortion \"ultras\"<\/a> - that is, the act of killing an unborn child because of a disease or disability. Eugenics was actively promoted by the nazis.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2012\/09\/03\/tras-negar-la-humanidad-de-los-no-nacidos-el-pais-reparte-carnets-de-anticientifico\/\">Calling those who claim, as science shows, that human life begins at conception \"anti-scientific\"<\/a< simply because this scientific evidence contradicts the pro-abortion claims of this newspaper.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2012\/04\/17\/la-iglesia-no-recibe-10-000-millones-del-estado-origen-y-refutacion-de-un-bulo\/\">Publishing a hoax claiming that the Church receives 10 billion from the State<\/a>, a lie that was part of an anti-Catholic campaign by the left.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2013\/06\/14\/el-pais-se-lia-dice-que-la-iglesia-no-detalla-sus-gastos-pero-da-una-exhibicion-de-cifras\/\"><\/a> Distributing a false figure for the salaries of religion teachers, based on supposed \"experts\"<\/a>. It turned out that this figure had been invented by the Socialist Youth.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2009\/04\/24\/si-te-consideras-en-2009-eres-un-integrista\/\">Criticizing the Catholic Church for counting the years since Christ's birth<\/a>, something that almost everyone does, including that newspaper.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2009\/03\/27\/el-pais-opone-17-cientificos-a-mas-de-1700\/\">Calling 17 scientists who claim that science cannot know when human life begins \"scientific elite\"<\/a>, in contrast to a manifesto by more than 1,700 scientists stating that scientific evidence shows that human life begins at conception.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/hsJF3\">Spreading lies claiming that the Church annihilated Galileo<, condemned the lightning rod and burned the first anesthesiologists at the stake<\/a>, which is absolutely false.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2011\/12\/04\/el-pais-detalla-como-engano-a-sus-lectores-antes-y-durante-la-tregua-etarra-de-2006\/\">To deceive its readers in order to conceal the political negotiations between the Zapatero government and ETA<\/a>, in order to discredit those who criticised these negotiations.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/10\/11\/el-diario-socialista-el-pais-dedica-a-hamas-un-largo-articulo-que-omite-la-palabra-terrorista\/\">Publishing a lengthy article on Hamas, almost 1,200 words long, omitting its terrorist character<\/a> and calling its members \"militants.\"<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The complete list of lies, manipulations and hoaxes that El Pa\u00eds has been publishing for decades could fill several volumes.<\/strong> That this newspaper is now crying out against \"disinformation\" is not only a display of cynicism, but also another episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2024\/11\/12\/el-diario-socialista-el-pais-pretende-que-el-estado-censure-las-conversaciones-privadas\/\">its campaign in favor of censorship, in which this newspaper even suggested intervening in private conversations<\/a> under the excuse of combating hoaxes, <strong>something typical of a totalitarian regime<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is not enough for the socialists to lie and manipulate, but <strong>they also want to impose their opinions and statements as the only valid ones<\/strong>, disregarding our rights and freedoms.
