During the Spanish Civil War, the province of Granada, in Andalusia, was divided into two sectors for several years.<\/p>\n
The southern and western parts of the province - including its capital - remained in the hands of the nationalists, while the northern and eastern parts remained in the hands of the republicans. In the Sierra de Hu\u00e9tor, northeast of the city of Granada, defensive positions were built<\/strong> on the front line, which are still preserved today. Yesterday, the always interesting Youtube channel Aventuras Entresierras<\/a> (to which I highly recommend you subscribe) published an excellent video touring these positions<\/strong> and showing them from a bird's eye view.<\/p>\n In addition to these trenches, at the end of the video we can see the ruins of the sanatorium founded by the German Berta Wilhelmi<\/strong> (1858-1934), founded in 1923 with the name of Sanatorio y Dispensario de la Alfaguara, in order to treat tuberculosis patients. The sanatorium was located near the front during the Civil War<\/strong>, so it was damaged. The sanatorium was abandoned in 1956. This place has been linked to paranormal phenomena. In 2015, the famous journalist Iker Jim\u00e9nez dedicated a broadcast of his Milenio 3 program to this place<\/a>.
