The PSOE appeals to this offense to support the mockery of believers<\/big><\/p>\n This week, the public company Televisi\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola broadcast an insult to Christ on its New Year's Eve program<\/a>, a fact that has provoked criticism of the government, which controls the media paid for by all taxpayers. The PSOE has openly supported this offense to Christians,<\/strong> with a message from Minister F\u00e9lix Bola\u00f1os<\/a> announcing that they will decriminalize the crime of mocking believers, as defined in Article 525 of the Penal Code. Bola\u00f1os has justified this reform by appealing to \"freedom of speech and creation\",<\/strong> but his party seems to have a very different idea of \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bthis freedom.<\/p>\n In 2020, the PSOE denounced Vox for a 'hate crime' against 'socialism'<\/big><\/p>\n This is demonstrated by the party's own website. On April 16, 2020, the PSOE announced a complaint against Vox before the Attorney General's Office<\/a>, accusing the conservative party of spreading \"hoaxes\" to \"provoke a reaction against the Government\"<\/strong>. This is a rather cynical accusation coming from a party like the PSOE, which has been systematically using lies to discredit its political rivals.<\/p>\n In its statement, the PSOE stated that \"no one, not even a political party, can use freedom of expression expressed through political criticism to commit crimes<\/strong>.\"<\/em> The most astonishing thing was reading who the alleged victim of these alleged crimes reported by the PSOE to the Public Prosecutor's Office was: the PSOE spoke of \"a hate crime, in accordance with article 510 of the Penal Code, for being directed against a certain political thought, socialism<\/strong>, represented by the PSOE, and against its representatives in the institutions.\"<\/em><\/p>\n The PSOE appealed to an article from the same chapter as the crime it wants to repeal<\/big><\/p>\n It should be noted that the PSOE's complaint was directed at legitimate criticism by a party against a political ideology<\/strong>. It was not, as was the case a few days ago, a gratuitous insult against a religion, launched from a television channel paid for by all taxpayers. Apparently, for the PSOE, criticizing socialism is a \"crime\" but mocking Christianity is not<\/strong>. A blatant double standard that is already part of the political tradition of Pedro S\u00e1nchez's party.<\/p>\n On the other hand, the curious thing about the PSOE's complaint is that Article 510 is in the same Chapter IV of the Penal Code as Article 525 that the socialists want to repeal<\/strong>. This chapter contains various articles that refer to \"crimes related to the exercise of fundamental rights and public freedoms<\/strong>.\" Article 510 criminalizes incitement to hatred, hostility, discrimination or violence against a group for reasons such as \"ideology, religion or beliefs.\"<\/em><\/p>\n The Prosecutor's Office dismissed the PSOE's complaint: Vox issued a legitimate criticism<\/big><\/p>\n Significantly, the Prosecutor's Office archived the PSOE's complaint against Vox<\/a>, deeming the party's criticisms to be legitimate<\/strong> (in fact, they were criticisms of the poor management of the pandemic by Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government). In other words, the PSOE tried to criminalize Vox for criticizing socialism, and now intends to give us lessons in \"freedom of expression\"<\/strong>, thus framing a clear offense to Christianity broadcast by a state channel controlled by the socialists.
