Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government seems incapable of doing anything without resorting to lies, even when it comes to a natural disaster.<\/p>\n
The government was in a hurry to attack RTVE rather than to help those affected<\/big><\/p>\n Today marks 11 weeks since the catastrophe caused by the floods of October 29 in Spain<\/strong>, which affected 78 municipalities, 75 of them belonging to the province of Valencia, and left 227 people dead and 11 missing according to official figures,<\/a> in addition to thousands of people who have been affected, with their homes, cars and businesses destroyed.<\/p>\n Already in the first days after the catastrophe, it was clear what the priorities were of the coalition government of socialists and communists headed by Pedro S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>, who took four days to order a large deployment of the Armed Forces<\/a> to rescue those affected, and who in the hours following the disaster refused to suspend parliamentary activity in solidarity with the victims because was in a hurry for assaulting the RTVE board<\/a>.<\/p>\n On November 5, S\u00e1nchez said that he had already requested help from the European Solidarity Fund<\/big><\/p>\n At a press conference held on 5 November, a week after the catastrophe<\/strong>, S\u00e1nchez stated: \"we have already formally requested assistance from the European Solidarity Fund from the European Commission\"<\/em><\/a>. The activation of this aid was an urgent matter so that the European Union could send funds to begin repairing all the damage caused by the floods.<\/p>\n Sanchez lied: two and a half months later he still hasn't asked for that help<\/big><\/p>\n However, yesterday, during a visit to Brussels, Valencia Mayor Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Catal\u00e1 revealed that S\u00e1nchez's government lied<\/a>: the European Commission has not yet requested the Solidarity Fund for Valencia<\/strong>, despite having said two months ago that it had already done so. According to the newspaper El Mundo<\/a>, European sources have confirmed that S\u00e1nchez's government has not yet requested this aid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Catal\u00e1 has also pointed out that the deadline to request this aid ends on January 21, in just one week<\/strong>. It is interesting to read what El Mundo points out about the government's response in relation to this matter:<\/p>\n \"The Government points out that, indeed, the decision was made to request these funds, which was communicated as such<\/strong>, and the sources consulted are unaware of what Catal\u00e1 claims and Brussels confirms. That is, Moncloa has no evidence that the aid was not requested.<\/strong> Or, at least, that is what is being conveyed.\"<\/em> <\/p><\/blockquote>\n That is to say, the government made the decision to request these funds but does not know whether they were requested or not<\/strong> (saying that \"there is no evidence that the aid was not requested\"<\/em> is a twisted and cynical way of dodging the issue: if the request had been made, there would be some document to prove it), but S\u00e1nchez said on November 5 that he had requested them.
