Today, 30 years after that crime, <strong>the CEU-CEFAS Observatory of Victims of Terrorism has released the documentary \"This is a true story\"<\/strong>, directed by <strong>I\u00f1aki Arteta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the documentary we can hear the testimonies of <strong>Ana Ir\u00edbar<\/strong>, Gregogio's widow; <strong>Javier<\/strong>, his son; <strong>Mar\u00eda San Gil<\/strong>, who was with Gregorio at the time he was murdered; and <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Aznar<\/strong>, former president of the government, whom ETA tried to assassinate in an attack carried out three months after Gregorio's murder (the video is in English, you can activate automatic subtitles in Spanish in the bottom bar of the player):<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Esta es una historia real | 30 aniversario del asesinato de Gregorio Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez por ETA\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uJkHkN3Q_uA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>I thought the documentary was excellent<\/strong> and it made me think about how much we have to do to convey to today's youth what happened in Spain during the years when <strong>ETA murdered 853 people, including 22 children and babies<\/strong>. Keeping the memory of ETA's victims alive is especially important at a time in Spain's history when we are experiencing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/12\/14\/the-27-murders-of-eta-in-pamplona-bildu-does-not-condemn-them-and-sanchez-gives-it-the-city\/\">the infamy of seeing the government allied with the heirs of that terrorist gang<\/a>, <strong>totalitarians who have never condemned ETA's crimes,<\/strong> who have never asked for forgiveness for all the deaths and pain they caused, and who still today whitewash these criminals by calling those serving sentences for the crimes they committed \"political prisoners.\"<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today there is much talk of \"historical memory\" and \"democratic memory\"<\/strong> from the same left that seeks to subdue the brutal wave of separatist terrorism perpetrated by ETA for decades until July 30, 2009, when this mafia stopped killing simply because the socialists decided to give in to their blackmail.
