Gonz\u00e1lez Pons praises an Episcopalian bishop's speech against Trump<\/big><\/p>\n Today Esteban Gonz\u00e1lez Pons, deputy general secretary of the PP and vice president of the European People's Party, offers a new example of this in an article published by the newspaper Las Provincias<\/a>, entitled \"I want a bishop like that\", in which Gonz\u00e1lez Pons praises the speech of the Episcopal bishop Mariann Budde in front of Trump<\/strong>, a leftist discourse<\/a> in line with the \"woke\" movement in the United States.<\/p>\n Gonz\u00e1lez Pons' statement equating the US with communist China<\/big><\/p>\n In his article, the PP leader clearly shows his antipathy towards the new US president: he calls Trump an \"orange ogre\"<\/strong> and states that Budde's speech is \"the same as that image of the Chinese student standing in front of four tanks in Tiananmen Square\"<\/em>, with which Gonz\u00e1lez Pons seems to suggest that a communist dictatorship that violates human rights is comparable to a democracy in which freedom of expression exists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He launches criticisms against Trump that he does not launch against communist China<\/big><\/p>\n The latter is not at all strange, if we take into account that Gonz\u00e1lez Pons has attended several meetings between the PP and the Communist Party of China (CCP)<\/a>, the sole party of the communist dictatorship in Beijing. Perhaps that explains the fact that Gonz\u00e1lez Pons publicly insults Trump, something he has never done with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping.<\/strong><\/p>\n Regarding Trump's arrival at the White House, Gonz\u00e1lez Pons describes it as \"the burial of democratic values<\/strong> which we witness amid a shameful general silence\"<\/em>. Reading these words, it occurs to me to ask: How many times has Gonz\u00e1lez Pons said something about the attack on democratic values \u200b\u200bby his interlocutors in the CCP in China?<\/strong> In 2018 he even boasted of learning Chinese<\/a>, so he wouldn't even need an interpreter to express that reproach.<\/p>\n Gonz\u00e1lez Pons wants the Catholic Church to ordain women<\/big><\/p>\n In conclusion, Gonz\u00e1lez Pons states: \"It is true that the United States is our best ally, but not like this. We just have to say it, like Bishop Budde, or it will be too late. And let me add that the world also needs women like her, ordained in the Catholic Church.<\/strong>\"<\/em> This is not a new statement. In 2015, Gonz\u00e1lez Pons attacked the Catholic Church in the same newspaper<\/a>, simply because his ideological dogmas do not coincide with Catholic doctrine.<\/p>\n Mariann Budde defended abortion on a TV show in 2024<\/big><\/p>\n About the bishop that Gonz\u00e1lez Pons praises, it should be noted that in an intervention on a TV program in April 2024, Mariann Budde openly defended abortion<\/a>, stating: \"I believe that you can be a follower of the spectrum of life and still respect a woman's right to choose her reproductive health, including when to have an abortion<\/strong> in the early stages of pregnancy.\"<\/em> This perhaps explains Gonz\u00e1lez Pons' great sympathy for that bishop, since the PP is a pro-abortion party<\/a>. That is why this PP leader wants leftist bishops like Budde.<\/p>\n What must be annoying for politicians like Gonz\u00e1lez Pons is that there are bishops who truly defend Christian values<\/strong> against the openly anti-Christian approaches of parties like the PP.
