I have been watching computer-animated films for many years, since the distant times of Art Futura and Res Fest.<\/p>\n
What was really interesting about those festivals was seeing short films with very original ideas.<\/strong> Some of them led to commercial films on the big screen, such as \"Mortal Engines\" (2018). After Disney ruined the Pixar studio, I find it increasingly difficult to find worthwhile animated films. I recently saw a really excellent one, \"The Wild Robot\"<\/a>, and today I bring you another one.<\/p>\n \"Flow\" (original Latvian title is \"Straume\") is a film directed by Latvian filmmaker Gints Zilbalodis.<\/strong> It is a co-production between Latvia, France and Belgium. This film is collecting many awards and has won the Golden Globe for best animated film<\/strong>, beating films from such powerful studios as Disney, Aardman and DreamWorks. In addition, it has two nominations for the Oscars, for best international film and best animated film.<\/p>\n The film has the characteristic that in 85 minutes not a single word is spoken<\/strong>, since its protagonists are several animals. Fortunately, I have had the privilege of going to see it with Bilbo and Sam<\/a>, who have acted as interpreters for me (in their own way, of course). I already liked this detail of the film when I saw the advertisement, and the result is fabulous.<\/p>\n Otherwise, the film has an excellent soundtrack, a very good animation style<\/strong> (in this it reminded me quite a bit of \"The Wild Robot\", it must be said) and a really magnificent set design<\/strong>. It is rarely that I enjoy seeing in detail what appears on the screen in a film so much. In addition, it is a film that children can watch without problems and that does not have any ideological stuff. \"Flow\" is excellent and I highly recommend it<\/strong>.
