Of the three mentioned, <strong>the oldest is the French Foreign Legion, founded in 1831<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54369891113_ddd499daf3_3k.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54369891113_4d71f0fdd2_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Spanish Legion was founded in 1920 following the model of its French counterpart,<\/strong> that is, as a force specifically aimed at recruiting volunteers of foreign origin, although also open to the recruitment of volunteers of Spanish origin. <strong>For years now, Spanish and French legionaries have had strong ties of brotherhood,<\/strong> and today these ties have culminated in a historic military parade at the Spanish Legion base in Ronda (M\u00e1laga), home of the Legion's 4th Tercio \"Alejandro Farnesio\".<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54369891108_f26253da24_3k.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54369891108_b0474d8c11_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.charrytv.com\/noticias\/ronda\/sociedad\/legion-extranjera-etrangere-cuarto-tercio-ronda-francia_8556\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">As Manolo Guerrero explained on CharryTV Ronda<\/a>, this event was very special because <strong>for the first time the French Foreign Legion has celebrated the delivery of its \"k\u00e9pi blanc\" to its new recruits in a ceremony outside French territory<\/strong>. The \"k\u00e9pi blanc\" (white kepi) is how French legionnaires call the cylindrical cap that identifies them, and which is <strong>the equivalent of the chapiri of the Spanish Legion<\/strong>. This ceremony was attended by 56 officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the 4th Regiment of the French Foreign Legion, based in Castelnaudary. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@CharryTVRonda\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CharryTV Ronda<\/a> has published the video of this event on its YouTube channel:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"L\u00e9gion \u00c9trang\u00e8re: Legionarios franceses reciben el k\u00e9pi blanc en el Cuartel de La Legi\u00f3n en Ronda\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XYRFLPFwjqo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
