The Arabian Peninsula is known worldwide for its vast desert areas, as well as for its oil fields.<\/p>\n

The strange case of a beacon in the middle of a desert and more than 160 km from the coast<\/a><\/rel>
\nA desert in which three strategic bombers from the Cold War are abandoned<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

In the centre of the peninsula, in an area belonging to Saudi Arabia,<\/strong> in the north-eastern part of the great Najd plateau and about 65 km north-west of the country's capital, Riyadh, there is a colossal cliff 800 km long: Jabel Fihrayn<\/strong>, formed by the tectonic movement of the Arabian plate. It is a place that attracts a large number of tourists and is popularly known as the \"Edge of the World\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These cliffs are 300 metres high,<\/strong> although in some places they reach 600 metres. These cliffs, which must be reached by jeep, offer impressive views of the desert.<\/strong> Personally, Saudi Arabia is one of the countries I would never consider going to because of its extreme heat (which I hate) and especially because of its lack of religious freedom (I am a Christian).
