One of them is <strong>the province of M\u00f8re og Romsdal in western Norway<\/strong>, which is crossed by the Fv655 district road, built between 1893 and 1896, a 51-kilometer road that runs through the sparsely populated and little-known Norangsdalen valley.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Norangsdalen is surrounded by the Sunnm\u00f8rsalpene Mountains (or Sunnm\u00f8re Alps)<\/strong>, a mountain range that reaches 1,700 meters above sea level. <strong>During the harsh Norwegian winter months, it's an ideal skiing area<\/strong>, and when the snow melts, those mountains are a fabulous place for hiking. Two months ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@DashcamRoadshow\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dashcam Roadshow<\/a> <strong>posted a video driving that road from \u00d8rsta to Hellesylt<\/strong>, including a ferry ride across the Norangsfjord, departing from the beautiful village of S\u00e6b\u00f8:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Norangsdalen Scenic Drive 4K | \u00d8rsta to Hellesylt on Fv655, Norway\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b4Rr_7y068U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>You can see some screenshots from this video here, with details about what we see in each one. <strong>This is the first leg of the trip, from \u00d8rsta to S\u00e6b\u00f8<\/strong>. If you showed me the image without giving me any details, I'd mistake it for a Galician road.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54388709696_19ff42423c_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here we see a ferry in the small port of S\u00e6b\u00f8<\/strong>, on the shores of the Norangsfjord. From this port, there are boat trips to Standal, Trandal, and Leknes. The author of the video took the ferry to the latter town, located on the island of Vestv\u00e5g\u00f8ya. <strong>Norway is the European country with the longest coastline. It has 239,057 islands and more than 1,700 fjords<\/strong>, so bridges and ferries are essential to explore most of its coast.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54388709716_9ffcb0ba49_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>A picture of the beautiful village of \u00d8ye<\/strong>, also located on the banks of the Norangsfjord. On the left, we see the elegant building of the Hotel Union \u00d8ye, which has been offering accommodation to travelers in this area since 1891.
