The accident occurred <strong>near the French Air Force's 113 Base in Saint-Dizier<\/strong>, in the Haute-Marne department in northeastern France. The video shows the crew members parachuting out of the planes just before they hit the ground.<\/p>\n<p>This afternoon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gouv.fr\/sites\/default\/files\/ministere-armees\/Communiqu%C3%A9_Collision%20de%20deux%20avions%20de%20la%20Patrouille%20de%20France.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the French Ministry of Defense issued the following statement<\/a> on this incident:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Collision of two Patrouille de France planes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, <strong>at around 3:35 p.m., two Patrouille de France Alphajets collided<\/strong> while training near Air Base 113 in Saint-Dizier (Haute-Marne). <strong>The two pilots and a third pilot in the rear seat ejected.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The three people were found and are unharmed.<\/strong> They received medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The area around the accident is being secured, and <strong>there are no casualties so far<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations are underway to clarify the causes of this accident.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>French Defense Minister S\u00e9bastien Lecornu<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SebLecornu\/status\/1904584948314419552\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has clarified this information<\/a> in a message published at 6:23 p.m., indicating that the three crew members were <em>\"<strong>slightly injured<\/strong>\"<\/em>. From here I wish them a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54410348824_c05e7d9b79_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54410348824_80602f8881_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Founded in 1931, the Patrouille de France is the oldest aerobatic team in the world<\/strong> and also one of the most prestigious. It is based at Air Base 701 in Salon-de-Provence, in the Bouches-du-Rh\u00f4ne department in southeastern France.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54410416728_aa66d3bfbf_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54410416728_3ca602771b_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since 1981, this aerobatic team has been flying the Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jet<\/strong>, a training aircraft developed jointly by Germany and France in the 1970s. The team flies eight aircraft in its demonstrations, with another four in reserve.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54410416723_2bc3a8846e_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54410416723_f8928a51f3_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>In its 94-year history, the Patrouille de France has suffered 18 accidents<\/strong>, 13 of which were fatal. The team's first accident occurred on May 20, 1935, with an in-flight collision at Orly, killing one pilot. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capital.fr\/economie-politique\/les-alphajet-de-la-patrouille-de-france-devraient-voler-jusquen-2035-1340070\"\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The patrol is scheduled to continue flying its Alpha Jets until 2035<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, <strong>the French Air Force is replacing these aircraft in its advanced training flights with Pilatus PC-21 turboprops<\/strong>, the same model chosen by the Spanish Air Force to replace its C-101 Aviojet.<\/p>\n<p>---<\/p>\n<p><small>Photos: Patrouille de France.
