The alliance of Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government with the communist dictatorship of China<\/a> is a murky affair about which we know very little.<\/p>\n

Beijing uses the economy to extend its political power around the world<\/big><\/p>\n

Despite the criticism he is receiving from inside and outside Spain for this alliance with an anti-democratic, single-party regime, today S\u00e1nchez has once again defended this dictatorship<\/a>, stating that \"China is an essential partner when it comes to facing global challenges\"<\/em><\/strong>, among which he has cited \"the fight against the climate emergency, financing for development and the fight against inequality\"<\/em>. Significantly, he has not mentioned democracy and human rights<\/strong>, since these do not exist in mainland China, governed by the dictator Xi Jinping.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the Spanish don't realize what Pedro S\u00e1nchez's alliance with the Asian giant means. Spain runs the risk of becoming a Chinese colony, if it isn't already, and not just in economic terms.<\/strong> After all, the communist dictatorship in Beijing not only uses its dumping practices to seize foreign markets for purely economic purposes, but for Xi Jinping, the economy is a way to increase his influence and political power in the world<\/strong>, while China significantly increases its military power in the Indo-Pacific region.<\/p>\n

The effects of the alliance between S\u00e1nchez and Jinping: the illegal police stations<\/big><\/p>\n

For Chinese residents in Spain, the alliance between S\u00e1nchez and Jinping means that Spain is no longer a safe place for Chinese dissidents<\/strong>. A news story from three years ago was very revealing about the consequences of this alliance. In September 2022, the NGO Safeguard Defenders uncovered a network of 54 illegal Chinese police stations in 30 countries<\/a> on 5 continents, noting that 230,000 Chinese citizens have been \"persuaded\" to return to their country by these illegal police stations. According to this research, Spain is the country with the most illegal Chinese police stations:<\/strong> nine in total, located in Madrid, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bValencia, and Santiago de Compostela.<\/p>\n

Curiously, that information took a while to reach the Spanish media. Finally, a month later, when the news began to circulate<\/strong>, the S\u00e1nchez government said it would investigate the matter<\/a>. Almost three years have passed and nothing has been heard about the supposed investigation.<\/strong> The government did not announce any results in this regard, not even unofficially. The matter has been simply covered up by the government. At the same time, S\u00e1nchez continued to visit China:<\/strong> he did so in 2023, 2024 and now in 2025<\/a>, making it one of the most frequented destinations by the Spanish socialist leader.<\/p>\n

Chinese Christians persecuted and deported by the S\u00e1nchez government<\/big><\/p>\n

Furthermore, while we were waiting for the outcome of that supposed government investigation, in November 2023 a Chinese dissident in Spain revealed that<\/strong> the S\u00e1nchez government was deporting Chinese Christians persecuted by the communist dictatorship<\/a>, even though they had requested asylum. An asylum denied by the government<\/a>, despite the high level of persecution that Christians suffer in China<\/a> and while the government distributes illegal immigrants throughout Spain.<\/p>\n

After the matter came to light, the Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers managed to stop the deportation of a Chinese Christian woman<\/a> who was to be returned to her country. The fate of those who were deported is unknown. What is clear is that the S\u00e1nchez government acted as an accomplice of the Beijing dictatorship in the persecution of Christians outside its borders<\/strong>. That is what S\u00e1nchez's alliance with that dictatorship serves: so that the lack of freedom that exists in China also extends to Spain.<\/p>\n
