170 million euros spent on propaganda in 2025<\/big><\/p>\n On January 21, 2025, Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government approved spending of 161 million on institutional advertising for this year<\/a>, the largest expenditure of this type in 18 years<\/strong>. Although the government has not even presented the general state budget for 2025, a few days ago the government approved almost 10 million more in spending on institutional advertising<\/a> under the pretext of \"reclaiming democracy\"<\/strong>. A complete mockery of the Spanish people by a government that is putting on a display of authoritarianism<\/a>.<\/p>\n The government's excuse for not helping ALS patients<\/big><\/p>\n Things change when we talk about helping sick people. In March, it was revealed that the government will not fund the ALS law if the budget is not approved<\/a>, despite the fact that the General Tax Law allows for extraordinary allocations from contingency funds without waiting for the budget to be approved. Yesterday, the newspaper El Mundo confirmed that amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients still do not receive this aid<\/a>. Many patients end up requesting euthanasia because they have no help to live with dignity.<\/strong><\/p>\n They are pushed to ask for euthanasia: it is cheaper for the State<\/big><\/p>\n Let's remember that four years ago, the S\u00e1nchez government rushed to approve a euthanasia law<\/strong>. It didn't rush to help ALS patients. In 2020, I already warned here that such a law would undermine palliative care<\/a>, as already happened in the Netherlands<\/a>. I explained it in a very easy-to-understand way: euthanasia causes investing in such care to be considered a waste, since it's much cheaper to kill.<\/strong> Devaluing human life leads to that. Many denied that this would happen, but that's exactly what's happening in Spain.<\/p>\n Four years ago, Jordi Sabat\u00e9, an ALS patient, said about S\u00e1nchez: \"Today you only offer us euthanasia. What about aid for living?<\/strong>\"<\/em> Ten days ago, Jordi published a statement<\/a> indicating that 500 people in critical condition were waiting for that aid since the law was passed in October 2024 (a law approved unanimously<\/a>): \"Since its approval, we still have no budget or financing to implement the living allowances provided for in the ELA law<\/strong>\"<\/em>.<\/p>\n Nearly 500 patients died while waiting for that help<\/big><\/p>\n Jordi pointed out that \"A few weeks ago we asked the government for a \u20ac63 million shock plan<\/strong>\"<\/em> to help hundreds of people in critical condition. Jordi commented that \"After almost half a year since the ALS law was passed, almost 500 people have died<\/strong> without having the possibility of freely choosing to live\"<\/em>.
