{"id":59571,"date":"2025-05-12T23:12:20","date_gmt":"2025-05-12T21:12:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/?p=59571"},"modified":"2025-05-24T22:59:53","modified_gmt":"2025-05-24T20:59:53","slug":"marca-and-el-espanol-copy-content-from-aventuras-entresierras-without-citing-the-source","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2025\/05\/12\/marca-and-el-espanol-copy-content-from-aventuras-entresierras-without-citing-the-source\/","title":{"rendered":"'Marca' and 'El Espa\u00f1ol' copy content from Aventuras Entresierras without citing the source"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I always dedicate this section of my blog to talking about interesting places and topics related to geography and space.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/09\/12\/el-arteal-the-ghost-town-used-by-the-spanish-legion-as-a-training-ground\/\">El Arteal: the ghost town used by the Spanish Legion as a training ground<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p>Today, unfortunately, I have to make an exception, and I do so to defend the work of a good friend, the author of the excellent YouTube channel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/AventurasEntresierras\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aventuras Entresierras<\/a>, to which I always recommend you subscribe for the interesting videos he publishes about exploring abandoned places. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2K3mmEdg2t8\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">On September 12, 2022, Aventuras Entresierras published a video about El Arteal<\/a>, a ghost town in the municipality of Cuevas del Almanzora, in the province of Almer\u00eda, which <strong>is used by the Legion to carry out military exercises:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Exploramos &quot;El Arteal&quot;, un poblado minero ABANDONADO.\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2K3mmEdg2t8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/09\/12\/el-arteal-the-ghost-town-used-by-the-spanish-legion-as-a-training-ground\/\">That same day I published an entry showing that video<\/a>, citing its source and showing some screenshots. <strong>Apparently, some media outlets found this an interesting topic<\/strong>, because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/aventuras.entresierras.5\/posts\/pfbid02Dt1brbuALrWtYcQRh5YpfNrjY98B6vULeF2u1dXceB2ZDkYEEPeTQm2U15CavhM4l\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">today Aventuras Entresierras posted a complaint on its Facebook page<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CEntresierras\/status\/1922002940048347529\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on its Twitter account<\/a> stating the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>It's incredible how digital media use other people's material without any authorization.<\/strong> On the left are the AUTHORIZED screenshots of my video for the Contando Estrelas portal, on the right are the UNAUTHORIZED copies from El Espa\u00f1ol and MARCA (once the most widely read newspaper in Spain).<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54515545495_78a15c1e33_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54515545495_e7a2612c22_c.jpg\" style=\"width:661px; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:2px solid #252525;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here you can see the screenshots published by Aventuras Entresierras<\/strong> showing this section of the Spanish edition of Contando Estrelas on the left, and on the right the publications by Marca (above) and El Espa\u00f1ol (below), with <strong>images taken from the Aventuras Entresierras video, without those two newspapers citing the source<\/strong>. Of course, they also don't link to the video in which that image appeared.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54515192851_7f2bd3c43d_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54515192851_5a5a44684c_c.jpg\" style=\"width:661px; height:auto; margin:10px 0 10px 0; border:2px solid #252525;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The news from the Marca newspaper can be seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marca.com\/tiramillas\/2025\/01\/17\/678a0d4522601d34428b4599.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> (and <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/olhvF\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here an automatic copy<\/a>, in case they change or delete it now) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elespanol.com\/malaga\/vivir\/20250412\/pueblo-abandonado-almeria-famoso-escenario-cine-esconde-historias-paranormales-trt\/1003743703981_0.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> News from El Espa\u00f1ol (<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/TLBD6\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here is the automatic copy<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In the case of <strong>Marca<\/strong>, the data collected in its news are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2022\/09\/12\/el-arteal-el-poblado-fantasma-usado-por-la-legion-espanola-como-campo-de-maniobras\/\">the ones I published here in 2022<\/a>, changing phrases and words in order so that the copy is not so conspicuous. As for <strong>El Espa\u00f1ol<\/strong>, this newspaper shows two screenshots that I took from the aforementioned Aventuras Entresierras video, indicating \"Archivo Municipal de Cuevas del Almanzora\" as the source.
