The British newspaper The Telegraph yesterday shed some light on the S\u00e1nchez government's lack of haste in explaining the April 28 blackout<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The S\u00e1nchez government's hoaxes about infrastructure chaos and what they tell us<\/a><\/rel>
\nA blackout with deaths and no resignations: socialism never admits mistakes in Spain<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

In a news story by veteran journalist Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, The Telegraph states<\/a>: \"It is the socialist government, not green energy, that ought to be on trial in this fiasco.<\/strong>\"<\/em> The story begins by stating the following: \"The stench of a cover-up hangs over Spain\u2019s giant blackout, the worst electricity failure in any developed country in modern times.<\/strong>\"<\/em> But what is most striking is what can be read in the fourth and fifth paragraphs of the text:<\/p>\n

\"Sources in Brussels have told The Telegraph that the authorities were conducting an experiment before the system crashed<\/strong>, probing how far they could push reliance on renewables in preparation for Spain\u2019s rushed phase-out of nuclear reactors from 2027.<\/p>\n

The government seems to have pushed the pace recklessly, before making the necessary investments<\/strong> in a sophisticated 21st-century smart grid capable of handling it.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

De ser cierto, esto explicar\u00eda por qu\u00e9 casi un mes despu\u00e9s el gobierno a\u00fan no ha ofrecido una explicaci\u00f3n de lo ocurrido<\/strong>, a pesar de todos los medios del Estado de los que dispone a su servicio. Una tardanza que alimenta razonables sospechas de que nos est\u00e1 ocultando la verdad<\/strong>, una ocultaci\u00f3n que explicar\u00eda tambi\u00e9n maniobras de distracci\u00f3n como el jaleo de S\u00e1nchez con Eurovisi\u00f3n<\/a> y sus ataques a Israel<\/a>, en un descarado intento para generar titulares que hagan olvidar el grave apag\u00f3n del 28 de abril<\/strong> y Eviten inc\u00f3modas preguntas para el gobierno.<\/p>\n

But if that is true, then we must deduce that the S\u00e1nchez government would not be the only one covering up the truth, but also the European Commission<\/strong>, in the hands of Ursula von der Leyen, who in recent years has shown great harmony with the Spanish socialist leader and who governs in Brussels thanks to a pact with the socialists.<\/p>\n

Still, I have to admit that The Telegraph story made me smile at some point because of the naivet\u00e9 the newspaper displays<\/strong>. I'm referring to what can be read in the eighth paragraph:<\/p>\n

\"If it is established that the blackout was a controlled experiment that went wrong<\/strong>, and if this information has been withheld from the public for almost four weeks, the Spanish Left faces electoral oblivion for a political generation.<\/strong>\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That would probably happen in the UK or other European countries, but the Spanish left has already proven itself sectarian enough to forget about something like this and worse<\/strong> in record time. The examples are endless: S\u00e1nchez's pacts with ETA's heirs<\/a>, his corruption scandals (with his wife, his brother, his attorney general, and his former right-hand man charged with various crimes), his granting of privileges to his separatist partners convicted of serious crimes (first pardons, then an unconstitutional amnesty), and its attacks on judicial independence and fundamental rights<\/a>, its offensive against press freedom<\/a>, his alliance with all kinds of dictatorships<\/a> and much more.<\/p>\n

Spanish socialism is increasingly resembling a cult in which everything the leader does is justified<\/strong> with the most bizarre excuses, although the most common is to call anyone who contradicts them \"far right,\" including the judges investigating their corruption scandals and the media that have exposed them. <\/p>\n

What we're seeing in Spain is increasingly similar to Venezuela<\/strong>, with a prime minister who displays the attitudes of an autocrat, who surrounds himself with a bunch of sycophants who owe him favors and who buys votes with everyone's money, giving rise to a fanatical left that swallows anything S\u00e1nchez does<\/strong>. The question now is very simple: what do all the Spaniards who are not part of that fanatical left plan to do about it?<\/p>\n
