Last year, I warned here against \"poisoned sources\"<\/a> that spread distorted or false information among the right, generating very regrettable situations.<\/p>\n

Beware of poisoned sources, you may end up falling into a trap<\/a><\/rel>
\nAgainst the King, the Army, the Constitution and the 'boomers': who benefits from this crazy drift?<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

A similar warning could be made about certain ridiculous ideas and opinions<\/strong>, which often end up being successful where rational debate of ideas gives way to the adoption of certain approaches simply because they are fashionable or because they allow easy solutions to complex problems<\/strong>, without requiring great mental effort. In the end, one of the biggest problems for a political movement, whatever it may be, is not only the lack of culture or the capacity for reasoning, but laziness, addicted to easy recipes that do not require great mental effort from those who listen to them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

History shows that there are political movements that foster this mental laziness, because without it they would have no chance of success.<\/strong> We have such clear examples of this as Nazism, Communism, and Islamism. But no ideological sector is immune from falling into this error.<\/strong> Not even the conservative right, and I say this considering myself right-wing and liberal-conservative.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, a Twitter user who created their account just a few months ago, in December 2024, posted this message<\/a>: \"The biggest problem in Spain is the boomers. That's it, there's no more, it all comes down to that.<\/strong> Stop thinking about Luther, the French Revolution, or the mother who gave birth to us. You can't build ANYTHING political with people who had it so easy, because they don't understand your problems<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Leaving aside how curious it is to read a message like this at a time when the left is demolishing our rule of law<\/strong> (something the author of that text seems to pay little attention to), that message is a colossal stupidity that consists of demonizing millions of people for their age<\/strong>. Obviously, this stupidity doesn't only occur on the right. On the left and in separatism, there are people who demonize millions of people for being men<\/strong>, for speaking Spanish, and for other equally ridiculous reasons. The sad thing is to see the success of messages like that: that stupidity has been shared by more than 600 people and has more than 5,000 likes<\/strong>. Curious figures for an account that currently has less than 4,400 followers.<\/p>\n

I don't know who wrote that stupid thing.<\/strong> It's possible that they're someone who seriously believes what they write, or they're simply testing other people's ability to swallow any nonsense<\/strong>. In this case, it's the same thing, because in the end, whatever the nature or purpose of the author of that message, the fact is that it was successful<\/strong> and thousands of people have shown their support for this tremendous nonsense.<\/p>\n

I've been warning for a while about these anti-boomer messages, not only from recently created anonymous Twitter accounts, but also from influential people on the right who spread these ideas as if they were brilliant<\/strong> from certain media outlets or popular YouTube channels. Messages like this are what we could define as brain food for idiots<\/strong>, a message in which someone dedicates themselves to feeding ridiculous ideas to people with a level of intelligence too low to subscribe to them. The question we should ask ourselves is: Who was the first person to propose this stupid idea of \u200b\u200bdemonizing people by their age, and to what end?<\/strong><\/p>\n

At this point, it would be difficult to answer that question. However, it's worth remembering that nine years ago, a far-left leader said the following<\/a>: \"If only people under 45 voted in this country, Pablo Iglesias would already be Prime Minister<\/strong>\"<\/em>. Obviously, with that message, she was showing her contempt for those \"boomers\" (people born during the times with the highest birth rates in Spain), whom some idiots on the right are now attacking.<\/p>\n

It's curious to observe that in less than a decade, a colossal stupidity of the extreme left is taken up by some on the right<\/strong>, exhibiting the same intellectual laziness that led that follower of Pablo Iglesias to attribute his lack of success to people over 45, as if they were a problem for society. There are many ways to disarm a political movement argumentatively<\/strong> (from countering its theses by rational means to doing so through the most crude propaganda), but this of getting its rivals to accept its greatest stupidities could be considered a great success of the extreme left<\/strong>, and a sad but necessary demonstration that the right, although it believes itself superior to the rest, is not free from making mistakes as serious as this one.<\/p>\n
