What's changing? The image at the top. <strong>What's staying the same? Maximum operational readiness: AIR POWER around the clock. In the air, in Earth, in space.<\/strong> Throughout Germany. At any time.\"<\/em> This message was accompanied by <strong>an impressive display of several elephant walks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Un impresionante paseo de elefantes de la Luftwaffe\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oQmWTtg889Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In military aviation, an \"elephant walk\" is a demonstration in which a group of aircraft perform a formation on a landing strip. <strong>It's a very common display of air power in other countries<\/strong>, but so far not in Germany, where the memory of World War II still weighs heavily on society. However, things are changing due to Russian expansionism. <strong>This video is a clear message to Moscow: Germany has the power to defend itself and its allies.<\/strong> You can see some screenshots of what appears in the video here.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561237920_bd7fff17af_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561237920_34ba5b1d6a_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>A soldier from an Air Mobile Protection Team (AMPT)<\/strong> armed with an H&K G36 assault rifle. These teams are responsible for protecting Luftwaffe airbases and aircraft deployed abroad. <strong>Behind us, we see a hangar with a Panavia Tornado<\/strong>, a veteran but highly capable attack aircraft.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561145843_9767c55fd3_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561145843_f0d4826abb_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Two rows of Eurofighters<\/strong>, the Luftwaffe's most advanced combat aircraft. Germany has 138 of these fighters: 31 in Tranche 1, 76 in Tranche 2, and 31 in Tranche 3. It is also on track to receive 38 Tranche 4 and 30 in Tranche 4+.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54560911811_48aa44ba31_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54560911811_dab82cc0ce_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Three rows of Panavia Tornados and an IAI Heron TP drone.<\/strong> The Luftwaffe still has 68 Tornado IDS (attack) and 21 Tornado ECR (electronic warfare) drones in operation. In addition, the German Air Force has five IAI Heron 1 surveillance drones and has acquired another five Heron TP surveillance and combat drones.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561237940_910cf208cd_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561237940_f1bf420c65_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>An impressive row of A400 Atlas transport aircraft.<\/strong> Germany is the largest operator of this European-made aircraft, with 47 aircraft already received and another 6 pending delivery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561092724_e0ec75e90c_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54561092724_273f716eae_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>A nice overhead view of a CH-53 Sea Stallion.<\/strong> Germany purchased 110 of these heavy helicopters in the late 1960s. 66 of them remain in service today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54560911821_78169928ed_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54560911821_fbbabdf9b7_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>One row of CH-53Gs and two rows of H-145s.<\/strong> The Luftwaffe has acquired 16 H-145s, used as special operations transport helicopters on missions by the Kommando Spezialkr\u00e4fte (KSK), the German Army's Special Forces Command.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54560911851_31544de6c5_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54560911851_d7e33e45f2_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>These elephant walks included MIM-104 Patriot and IRIS-T SLM air defense systems.<\/strong> The Luftwaffe has 9 Patriot batteries (72 launchers) and is expecting to receive another 8 (64 launchers).
