Luis Arg\u00fcello (@MonsArguello) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MonsArguello\/status\/1943637727640957286?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 11, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>As you can see, <strong>Arg\u00fcello's message mentioned the Twitter account @PararLaGuerra<\/strong>, presumably as a sign of support. This is the account of a platform that has called for a demonstration this Saturday with <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PararLaGuerra\/status\/1943256682378776840\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a manifesto<\/a> stating: <em>\"Trump and Netanyahu are a threat to world peace.\"<\/em> Significantly, this manifesto does <strong>not contain any criticism of Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists or the Iranian Islamist dictatorship that supports them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The president of the Spanish Episcopal Conference is a very important figure within the Catholic Church in Spain, and <strong>it would be expected that he would not dedicate himself to supporting clearly biased political manifestos<\/strong>. The problem arises when the bias is also observed in Arg\u00fcello's own account, as can be seen with a simple check.<\/p>\n<p>En los siete a\u00f1os que lleva <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20israel&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">en Twitter, Arg\u00fcello s\u00f3lo ha mencionado a Israel una vez<\/a>: fue el pasado 21 de mayo y <strong>lo hizo para acusar al Gobierno de Israel de causar el \"drama humanitario que ocurre en Gaza\"<\/strong>. Aqu\u00ed se puede leer su mensaje:<\/p>\n<p>In the seven years he's been <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20israel&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on Twitter, Arg\u00fcello has only mentioned Israel once<\/a>: on May 21, <strong>he accused the Israeli government of causing the \"humanitarian tragedy taking place in Gaza.\"<\/strong> You can read his message here:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\" style=\"margin:10px 0 10px 0;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Gritemos alto y claro contra el drama humanitario que ocurre en Gaza por la acci\u00f3n del Gobierno de Israel. No cabe el silencio usando el argumento de que el Gobierno de Espa\u00f1a lo utiliza como escudo para ocultar otros problemas. Ese silencio utiliza la misma t\u00e1ctica encubridora.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mons. Luis Arg\u00fcello (@MonsArguello) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MonsArguello\/status\/1925170775398523265?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 21, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>We must remember that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diariodesevilla.es\/mundo\/ONU-Hamas-robar-ayuda-humanitaria_0_230377245.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hamas is dedicated to stealing humanitarian aid that reaches Gaza<\/a>, but the president of the EEC has said absolutely nothing about it. In fact, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20Ham%C3%A1s&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arg\u00fcello has never mentioned Hamas on his Twitter account<\/a>, <strong>not even when it perpetrated its brutal terrorist attack against Israel on October 7, 2023<\/strong>, an attack in which entire families were murdered, including children and babies. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20until%3A2023-11-07%20since%3A2023-10-07&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">In the entire month following that attack, Arg\u00fcello only published one message about current events in Spain<\/a>, specifically about the amnesty.<\/p>\n<p>Let us remember that <strong>this clearly anti-Semitic attack was the largest massacre suffered by the Jewish people since the Holocaust<\/strong>. Regarding this savage atrocity, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/10\/19\/hundreds-of-jurists-from-22-nations-accuse-hamas-of-crimes-of-genocide-against-israel\/\">hundreds of jurists from 22 nations accused Hamas of crimes of genocide<\/a>. The president of the Spanish Episcopal Conference didn't have time to publish even a simple message on Twitter about it, but now he does have the time and the desire <strong>to accuse the country attacked by Hamas of genocide, aligning himself with Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government<\/strong>, which h<a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2025\/05\/15\/sanchezs-double-standard-he-calls-israel-genocidal-but-not-hamas-russia-or-china\/\">as accused Israel of \"genocide\" but not Hamas, Russia, or China<\/a>. Surprisingly, the president of the Spanish bishops exhibits the same bias.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, <strong>in these more than three years that Putin's dictatorship has been massacring Ukrainian civilians<\/strong>, with constant attacks against residential buildings, schools, hospitals, temples and other civilian targets, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20Rusia&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arg\u00fcello has not mentioned Russia even once on his Twitter account<\/a>. This is surprising. Arg\u00fcello's posts in the first month of the Russian invasion <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20until%3A2022-03-24%20since%3A2022-02-24&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">can be read here<\/a>. <strong>Three days after the start of that full-scale Russian invasion, Arg\u00fcello wrote this:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\" style=\"margin:10px 0 10px 0;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">\u00a1No a la guerra! Pero no basta. Es preciso un compromiso militante en favor de la paz a trav\u00e9s de la no-violencia que pide renuncias, sacrificios y oraci\u00f3n por la Paz. Tambi\u00e9n el humilde reconocimiento de la necesidad de un Ej\u00e9rcito que defienda a los pueblos de la brutalidad.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mons. Luis Arg\u00fcello (@MonsArguello) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MonsArguello\/status\/1497858982270148608?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 27, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Not a single mention of Ukraine (the invaded country) or Russia (the invading country).<\/strong> A very different way of approaching a war than we could see in his message yesterday. But there is more. <strong>In these three years of war<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=from%3AMonsArguello%20Ucrania&src=typed_query&f=live\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arg\u00fcello has only mentioned Ukraine once on his Twitter account<\/a>, and he did so to publish <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MonsArguello\/status\/1548653222142803969\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this regrettable message<\/a>:<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\" style=\"margin:10px 0 10px 0;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">La guerra contin\u00faa en Ucrania y en otros frentes. Los ciudadanos nos debatimos entre criterios morales compasivos, el miedo a perder el bienestar y la indiferencia. Se libra una guerra de poderes geoestrat\u00e9gicos y econ\u00f3micos que no conocemos bien y que, intuimos, nos manipulan.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mons. Luis Arg\u00fcello (@MonsArguello) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MonsArguello\/status\/1548653222142803969?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 17, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Pay attention to the latest: <em>\"<strong>A war is being waged between geostrategic and economic powers that we don't know well and that, we sense, are manipulating us.<\/strong>\"<\/em> I expected this phrase to come from some pro-Russian commentators who are always appealing to geostrategy to make Russia's perverse actions seem less odious, but I didn't expect to see a bishop writing something like that.
