Terrorist attacks against religious communities should be similarly condemned by democratic governments, but this is not the case in Spain.<\/p>\n
On March 15, 2019, a far-right Australian terrorist, Brenton Tarrant, murdered 51 Muslims in terrorist attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand<\/a>, attacks that also left 40 injured. These horrendous crimes were perpetrated with firearms. News of these terrorist acts went around the world and caused great commotion<\/strong>, prompting messages against Islamophobia and condemnation from many countries.<\/p>\n In a message on his Twitter account, the same day as the terrorist attacks<\/strong>, the president of the Spanish government, the socialist Pedro S\u00e1nchez, published a resounding message condemning them<\/a>, stating: \"Shocked by the terrible attacks in Christchurch. My condolences and support to the victims, their families and the Government of New Zealand.<\/strong> Our resounding condemnation of the violence and the senselessness of the fanaticisms and extremisms that want to break up our societies.\"<\/em><\/p>\n Conmocionado por los terribles ataques en Christchurch.
