If you ask anyone in Spain if they would support a dictatorship for his country, the vast majority would respond with a resounding \"no\".<\/p>\n
However, when it comes to recognizing a true dictatorship, the answers are less clear<\/strong>, not only at street level, but also in the political sphere and in the media. Just try answering this question: How many media outlets have you seen refer to communist China as a \"dictatorship\" or call Xi Jinping a \"dictator\"?<\/strong> As a general rule, in Spain the vast majority of media never use those words for mainland China, under a one-party regime since 1949, and usually call their head of state \"president.\"<\/p>\n Similarly, How many Spanish politicians have you heard referring to communist China as a \"dictatorship\"?<\/strong> The mere fact of regularly referring to \"communist China\" makes some readers of this blog seem strange, but I simply mean to remind you that there is an independent country, the Republic of China (Taiwan), which is free and democratic China<\/strong>. A country with which only one European country maintains diplomatic relations: Vatican City, something that should cause shame to the rest of Europe.<\/p>\n In 2024, I already pointed out here the perverse relationship of several of the main Spanish political parties with China<\/a>, specifically the Popular Party, the PSOE and Sumar<\/strong> (that is, the new white label of the Communist Party of Spain). This explains a curious fact: Vox is the only Spanish party with a parliamentary presence that dares to denounce the influence of that dictatorship in Spain<\/strong>. The rest have no qualms about being friendly with the Communist Party of China (CPC), the largest criminal organization in the world<\/a>, the sole party of that dictatorship, which has killed more people than any other political regime in the last century<\/a> and which still today maintains its own version of the Soviet Gulag, the Laogai<\/strong>, to imprison and torture political dissidents in the silence of the world.<\/p>\n In the last few hours, we have learned new information about the toxic influence of the communist dictatorship of China in Spain<\/strong>. Yesterday, Fernando Garc\u00eda-Romanillos published a news story in VozP\u00f3puli entitled \"The silent expansion of China in police, journalistic and academic circles\"<\/em><\/a>. I recommend reading it in its entirety. Significantly, this news story includes a name that also appears in the influence operations of other dictatorships in Spain: the socialist Jos\u00e9 Luis Rodr\u00edguez Zapatero<\/strong>, who was prime minister between 2004 and 2011 and today wields considerable influence in Pedro S\u00e1nchez's government.<\/p>\n On the other hand, yesterday Javier Benegas<\/strong>, member of the editorial board of Disidentia<\/a> and a good example that there are still brave and independent journalists in Spain, commented on his Twitter account<\/a>:<\/p>\n \"Coincidentally, since I started analyzing China and its influence, the @disidentia website has been receiving nothing but hacking attempts<\/strong>. We've had to escalate security measures to the point of reaching insane levels.\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n It's a \"coincidence\" that Counting Stars also suffers<\/strong>, I don't know if it's because of the articles I've been publishing criticizing that communist dictatorship and supporting Taiwan. That could explain the lack of resistance in Spain to the penetration of that dictatorship<\/strong> in different spheres of our country, as VozP\u00f3puli pointed out yesterday, but I fear that fear of reprisals is not the main explanation for this fact. Communist China is an economic giant that buys many wills<\/strong>, generating substantial advertising revenue with its large companies (all of which have political commissars of the CPC).
