Some of its mountain villages are beautiful places.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/12\/27\/mitholz-the-swiss-town-that-will-be-evacuated-in-2030-due-to-a-military-accident-from-1947\/\">Mitholz, the Swiss town that will be evacuated in 2030 due to a military accident from 1947<\/a><\/rel><br \/>\n<rel><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outono.net\/elentir\/2023\/01\/12\/sabbione-a-beautiful-swiss-town-that-looks-like-something-out-of-the-lord-of-the-rings\/\">Sabbione: a beautiful Swiss town that looks like something out of 'The Lord of the Rings'<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n<p><strong>An example of one of these beautiful Swiss villages is Moghegno<\/strong>, once a municipality, but due to population loss in recent decades, it was eventually incorporated into the municipality of Maggia in 2004. <strong>Moghegno is in the canton of Ticino, the only Swiss canton whose official language is Italian.<\/strong> This is evident in the village's streets, marked with elegant signs in that language.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This place has been inhabited since the time of ancient Rome<\/strong>, and a Roman necropolis from the early centuries AD has been found here. <strong>Moghegno gradually lost population due to emigration<\/strong>, and according to the last municipal census taken in 2003, it had 376 inhabitants.
