The murder of conservative leader Charlie Kirk<\/a> in the United States has shocked the right in all Western countries.<\/p>\n

This shock is explained not only by the crime itself, but also by the breeding ground that made it possible: the dehumanization of right-wing people by leftist propaganda<\/strong>, which for decades has characterized those who disagree with left-wing dogmas as \"fascists,\" a word that the far left uses as a justification for violence against dissenters<\/strong>, regardless of whether they have any connection to fascism.<\/p>\n

There's no need to look for examples in the newspaper archives: these days many left-wing media outlets and activists have unleashed all their hatred on Charlie Kirk<\/strong>, unleashing a wave of defamation and slander on his corpse with an obvious purpose: to present Kirk as the person responsible for his own murder, as if his opinions deserved a shot in the neck<\/strong>. This wave of hatred has served to show the whole world what a part of the left really is: a political movement that refuses to be contradicted and is prepared to do anything to silence those who disagree with it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Of course, with a left like that, dialogue is very difficult, if not impossible<\/strong>. It's hard to engage in a minimally normal conversation with someone who believes that your freedom of expression is nullified if you disagree with the left. However, we shouldn't be afraid<\/strong>. It may seem paradoxical to say this in the face of such an extreme and fanatical left, but if what they want is to intimidate us into self-censorship, the worst thing we could do is please them<\/strong>, because by doing so we would be helping this fanatical left gag our society. If they want to silence us, what we have to do is speak up.<\/strong> If there are absolutely legitimate ideas that they don't want to hear, what we must do is defend them without fear. <\/p>\n

Fear is the best ally of totalitarians, and courage is the best ally of those of us who love freedom.<\/strong> When faced with bullies, we should not show weakness or cowardice, because that's when they feel empowered. And of course, I'm not talking about falling into their hands. I refuse to suggest that anyone respond to all that hate with more hate. I don't want to be like them.<\/strong> I love my country, and I want to live in a free and democratic society where we can discuss political issues peacefully and in a civilized manner, which is what Charlie Kirk did<\/strong> at the events he organized.<\/p>\n

The solution to all the hatred fueled by a segment of the left is not to administer to ourselves the same moral poison that inspires such fanaticism. Darkness is not defeated with more darkness, but with light. We will win by being better than them<\/strong> and by skillfully using the best weapon a democrat has, which is words. That is one of the great lessons taught by Charlie Kirk.<\/strong> Every time a leftist responds to arguments with hatred and violence, what they do is delegitimize the left, and Nothing would make many radical leftists happier than to see us all plunged into the darkness, hatred, and fanaticism<\/strong> in which they live.<\/p>\n

On October 3, 2016, Charlie Kirk posted this quote from John, chapter 1, verse 5 on his Twitter account<\/a>: \"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it<\/strong>.\"<\/em> It is that light that should guide us in defending our ideals.<\/p>\n
