Created in 1969 as Esquadra 502, it has been a member of the NATO Tigers since 1978. This squadron operated Fiat G.91 Gina fighters until 1993, when they received their current aircraft, the F-16A\/B Block 15. In 2005, it began receiving the F-16 Block 20 MLU (mid-life upgrade).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807790278_8ca7aa956c_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807790278_50f53f745d_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Portuguese F-16s commonly sport the classic Hill Grey scheme<\/strong> with three shades of grey (FS 36118, 36270 and 36375) used by the USAF from the late 1970s to 1990.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807783339_860b9aa9fd_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807783339_be7c3c1168_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetphotos.com\/photo\/7116422\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">For the 2011 Tiger Meet, Esquadra 301 decorated one of its F-16AMs in this way<\/a>, maintaining the Hill Grey scheme and painting the wing with an illustration alluding to that meet that included the image of a jaguar (the feline that gives its name to the unit), some tiger stripes and the four-pointed star of NATO. <strong>This aircraft, 15106, still carries this decoration, although somewhat faded<\/strong> due to sun exposure.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807536706_ac427101e4_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807536706_0ed365c862_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A week ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/fap_pt\/status\/1968051595956175052\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Portuguese Air Force unveiled the spectacular livery of one of its F-16AMs<\/a> for Tiger Meet 2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807874800_a1be0536fa_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807874800_bedeb2fb20_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This time, the Hill Grey paint job disappears completely: <strong>the plane has been completely painted like a tiger<\/strong>. A very high-quality livery.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54806694862_8d61b39c23_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54806694862_fc09a27551_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The aircraft chosen for this livery is 15107<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetphotos.com\/photo\/82920\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an aircraft that carried the Hill Grey scheme since its inception<\/a> and was stripped of its paint for the MLU update in 2011 (then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetphotos.com\/photo\/7229800\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">photographed flying without insignia and with a yellow paint job<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jetphotos.com\/photo\/8250305\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">being repainted in the Hill Grey scheme<\/a> until now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807783309_6b2039677c_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54807783309_7a636e6f98_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%;
