Russia attacks a children's hospital in Ukraine: how many protests will there be against this?<\/a><\/rel>

One of the Ukrainian targets attacked today by the Russians was a children's hospital in Kherson<\/strong>, in southern Ukraine. The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reported<\/a> that around 9:20 a.m. local time, \"the enemy opened artillery fire on a children's hospital in Kherson<\/strong>, where young patients, their parents, and medical staff were present. As a result of the shelling, according to preliminary data, nine people were injured, including four children and three healthcare workers<\/strong>. Information on the exact number of casualties is being gathered.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

The Prosecutor's Office added: \"The hospital building suffered considerable damage, and the blast wave damaged nearby buildings.<\/strong> Prosecutors, along with investigators, are documenting the consequences of the bombing and gathering evidence of another war crime committed by the Russian Federation. The bombing of civilian targets, including healthcare facilities, constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law.<\/strong>\"<\/em><\/p>\n

This afternoon, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/a> denounced: \"This was a deliberate Russian attack specifically against children, against medical personnel<\/strong>, against basic guarantees of life in the community. The hospital sustained heavy damage, and sadly, there are injured among both the staff and the children who were being treated there. The youngest wounded child is eight years old\u2014the boy himself was wounded, as were his mother and brother.<\/strong> At the moment of the strike, about a hundred people were inside the hospital. And Russia is not even ashamed to consider such facilities as targets<\/strong>.\"<\/em> The President of Ukraine added:<\/p>\n

\"Russia is now the largest terrorist organization in the world<\/strong>, which is not only dragging out its terrorist war but also trying to do everything possible to ensure that no opportunity to end the war succeeds. Russia deliberately undermines every meaningful diplomatic effort, discredits those helping to protect life, and seeks to create new sources of destabilization in Europe<\/strong> to make it harder for Europeans to assist Ukraine.<\/p>\n

And this year, as the United States has made such significant efforts to end the war, the Russians have only increased the audacity and scale of their strikes. Nothing convinces Russia except pressure and strength.<\/strong> America\u2019s recent step was the right one\u2014substantial sanctions against Russian oil companies. Such measures must continue\u2014to rein in Russia\u2019s brazenness, deprive it of the means to prolong the war, and create a real motive for Moscow to end this war. Terrorists must be dealt with only as they deserve\u2014with strength and just treatment.<\/strong> I thank everyone who helps Ukraine!\"<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
