So far, the official channels of the Army and the Ministry of Defense have not yet published anything about this event, although the Army's Twitter account<\/a> has already posted an icon with a black ribbon as a sign of mourning. According to Europa Press<\/a>, at around 11:00 a.m. this morning, there was an explosion at the Command of the Maneuver and Firing Range (CMT) \"\u00c1lvarez de Sotomayor\"<\/strong>, located next to the BRILEGE base in Viator (Almer\u00eda). As a result of this explosion, one soldier has died and another has been injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The ABC newspaper reports that the injured soldier is in serious condition<\/a> and adds: \"Due to the great power of the explosion, some structures at the military base, such as walls, have been damaged.<\/strong> Authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the explosion and to ascertain the causes of the tragic event.\"<\/em><\/p>\n Abc adds that the first hypotheses point to \"the detonation of an explosive device\", possibly a grenade<\/strong>, although that newspaper notes that other sources speak of the possible deflagration of a gas boiler.<\/p>\n At 3:27 p.m., the National Association of Veterans of the Legion's War Band announced<\/a> that the deceased soldier was Legionary Knight Daniel Ruiz Mateo<\/strong>, a former member of the War Band. La Voz de Almer\u00eda<\/a> reports that the deceased soldier was from V\u00edcar (Almer\u00eda). Abc reports<\/a> that the mayor of that town has announced that he will decree two days of official mourning.
