The blue hour is the part of twilight just before nightfall, when the sky displays a beautiful, deep blue color.<\/p>\n

That hour, which occurs just before dawn, is a time of day much appreciated by photography enthusiasts<\/strong>, as it's possible to capture truly beautiful photos of both the sky and landscapes. In the Norwegian islands of Svalbard, north of the Arctic Circle, this \"blue hour\" lasts for several days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to its location, Svalbard will experience complete darkness from November 14th to January 29th<\/a>. During those two and a half months, the inhabitants of this remote and cold archipelago will be able to contemplate a constant starry sky<\/strong> (since light pollution levels there are very low and it is an ideal place for stargazing), weather permitting, of course.<\/p>\n

Svalbard is an ideal place for people who hate the heat. During the summer, temperatures range between 5 and 8\u00baC<\/a> in July, while in winter they range between -9 and -15\u00baC<\/strong> in January and February. Despite the cold and the lack of daylight, there's no shortage of entertainment on the islands. The most spectacular of all is its beautiful Northern Lights<\/strong>, which can be seen at any time during the polar night.<\/p>\n

Two days ago, YouTuber Cecilia Blomdahl<\/a>, a Swedish citizen living in Svalbard, showed the blue hour on the islands from her home in Longyearbyen, the archipelago's largest town (population just over 2,000): \"Polar Night is finally here on Svalbard, as we say goodbye to the sun for the next 3 months. The last light has faded, and from now on, we\u2019ll be living in shades of blue, under starry skies and northern lights.<\/strong> In today\u2019s video, we soak in the final sunset, enjoy some cozy cabin life (Christoffer bakes for us!), and join as Svalbard transforms into its magical winter darkness,\"<\/em> Cecilia says.<\/p>\n
