Four years ago you could see in Defense and Aviation the story of Manuel Otero, born in Outes (La Coru\u00f1a) and killed in the Normandy Landing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manuel was 28 years old and wore on his arm the Private First Class (PFC) stripe and the emblem of the \"Big Red One\"<\/strong>, as the 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army is popularly known. The bookseller from A Coru\u00f1a, Manuel Arenas, president of the Historical-Cultural Association \"The Royal Green Jackets\"<\/a>, managed to recover the story of that Spanish soldier, and the YouTube channel Tropa Guripa<\/a> dedicated two excellent videos that you could see here<\/a>, recounting his life and showing the place where he fell in combat.<\/p>\n

Last night, Tropa Guripa took another step in its efforts to commemorate Manuel Otero with the release of an excellent short film that recreates the Spanish soldier's landing on Omaha Beach<\/a>, specifically in the Easy Red sector, and his death in combat while crossing a minefield. A short film with cinematic quality and undoubtedly the best thing Tropa Guripa has released to date<\/strong>, which is saying something. The film was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Big Red One \"Manuel Otero\" Historical Reenactment Group<\/a>, with Manuel Gonz\u00e1lez in charge of filming and Bego P\u00e9rez in charge of photography.<\/p>\n
