Once launched, <em>\"the remaining work will continue until completion, followed by sea trials scheduled for the first half of December\"<\/em>, Navantia stated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54909577788_cb06110d0e_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54909577788_1bcb29bff8_b.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">The bow and launch ramp of the Spanish aircraft carrier \"Juan Carlos I\" L-61 (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Armada_esp\/status\/1899099345766486473\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Armada Espa\u00f1ola<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>The Spanish company has announced that <strong>an average of 300 workers and more than 35 specialized companies are participating in this process<\/strong>, <em>\"which reflects the magnitude and technical complexity of the project, one of the most significant undertakings carried out since its delivery to the Navy in 2010\".<\/em> <strong>The L-61 was launched on March 10, 2008<\/strong> and was registered in the <a href=\"https:\/\/armada.defensa.gob.es\/archivo\/mardigitaldocinstituc\/00docu-institucional-armada\/04lista-oficial-buques-armada\/documentos\/loba2023.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Official List of Navy Ships<\/a> on September 30, 2010.<\/strong> <strong>This is the ship's third dry-docking.<\/strong> The first two took place in 2015 and 2020. Just like then, the work is being carried out at the Navantia shipyard in Puerto Real, Cadiz.<\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54908487597_76cb3f8427_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54908487597_a17131e5bb_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"piedefoto\">Two LCM-1E landing craft in the L-61 floodable dock (Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Armada_esp\/status\/1858812947130187800\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Armada Espa\u00f1ola<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>Navantia explained that among the main tasks is <em>\"<strong>the replacement of the propulsion system<\/strong>, which will optimize its performance and guarantee its operability for the coming years. <strong>The work has included the dismantling of the existing pods<\/strong>, the uninstallation of 48 pieces of equipment from the previous system, and the installation of 50 new pieces of equipment associated with the next-generation propulsion system.\"<\/em> The Spanish company added: <em>\"<strong>The project has required the laying and connection of more than 35,000 meters of cabling<\/strong>, both power and control, and the reconnection of another 31,000 meters of existing and reusable cabling, to achieve the complete integration of the new system.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"foto_piedefoto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54909604859_1f82e959a3_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54909604859_554345cfd0_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; overhaul of transverse thrusters, stabilizers, anchors, and chains; renewal of hull anodes<\/strong>\"<\/em> (referring to sacrificial anodes, which protect the ship's hull against corrosion); <em>\"<strong>impressed current cathodic protection systems (ICCP) and antifouling system<\/strong> (MGPS);
