The Airbus A400M Atlas, one of the world's most outstanding military transport aircraft, is celebrating this Monday.<\/p>\n

Airbus Defence posted this message today<\/a> on its Twitter account: \"15 years ago, we began a journey that would redefine military transport. Today, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the A400M serial production!<\/strong>\"<\/em> The European company added: \"From delivering humanitarian aid to operating in the most remote environments, the A400M has become the backbone of air forces worldwide<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Airbus Defence has indicated that the A400M fleet in service has now logged 250,000 flight hours.<\/strong> The first flight of the first flight prototype, MSN001, took place on December 11, 2009. Seven prototypes were completed<\/strong>, the first two for ground testing and the remaining two for flight testing, of which two are still in service. The first production aircraft, MSN007, was delivered to the French Air Force on August 1, 2013<\/strong>, receiving the military registration F-RBAA and the name \"Ville de Orl\u00e9ans\".<\/p>\n

Airbus Defence reports that a total of 137 A400Ms have been delivered to 10 nations.<\/strong> The current operators of this aircraft are as follows:<\/p>\n
