This year's exercise is proving to be particularly cold, with <a href=\"https:\/\/news.err.ee\/1609927535\/gallery-extreme-cold-tests-nato-cadets-in-estonia-s-winter-combat-training\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">maximum temperatures of only -10\u00baC<\/a>. Above, we can see a video of this exercise published by the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EtatMajorFR\/status\/2019458111795253679\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">French Army<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080033396_6c9e7bba79_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080033396_925e3cc0bd_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>This exercise includes the participation of the armies of Estonia, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom.<\/strong> The United States Army has sent the 6th Squadron of the 9th Cavalry Regiment, belonging to the 1st Cavalry Division, equipped with <strong>M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks<\/strong>, like the one seen above.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080288709_c322ccfb25_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080288709_2ed5a3d0fe_c.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The British Army is contributing Challenger 2 tanks<\/strong> (like the one pictured) from the Royal Tank Regiment (RTR) of the 12th Armoured Brigade to this exercise. This unit has been deployed in Estonia since September as part of NATO's Multinational Brigade in that country.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080033436_e3a2e0497f_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080033436_fcf15966f6_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>In turn, the French Army has deployed AMX-10 RC tank destroyers<\/strong> (above), as well as VBMR Griffon armored personnel carriers and EBRC Jaguar armored reconnaissance vehicles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080318384_123532f2c5_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080318384_14fc8d110f_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As for the host country, <strong>the Estonian Land Forces are contributing personnel and equipment from their 1. Jalav\u00e4ebrigaad (1st Infantry Brigade) to this exercise<\/strong>. The brigade's headquarters and most of its units are located at the Tapa military base, where Winter Camp 2026 is taking place. Above, we can see two of them in this exercise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080033451_576925e059_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55080033451_ac69198343_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>These NATO maneuvers serve to adapt allied forces to the extreme winter climate of the Baltic countries<\/strong>, as well as contribute to the deterrent and defensive role of NATO forces deployed on the Alliance's eastern flank.
