The terrorist practices of the Russian invaders continue to manifest themselves in new war crimes against the civilian population of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

This afternoon, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine announced<\/a> that Russians attacked the city of Sloviansk, located in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast<\/strong>, an area under the control of Ukrainian forces and which is being subjected to systematic attacks by Russia. Before the Russian invasion, Sloviansk had 105,000 inhabitants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The regional governor of Donetsk, Vadym Filashkin, has announced<\/a> that this Russian attack on a civilian residential area has killed two people and injured 14 others<\/strong>. In a message posted on his Telegram channel, Filashkin stated: \"The victims are an 11-year-old girl and her mother. Among the injured is a 7-year-old girl.<\/strong>\"<\/em><\/p>\n

Filashkin commented on the daily situation in the Ukrainian-controlled areas of that oblast with these words: \"Every day, in the Donetsk region, new war crimes are committed by the Russians.<\/strong> Attacks on peaceful cities, homes, and children are an unjustified act of terror. The world must see this and call things by their name. Russia is a terrorist country!<\/strong>\"<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has already announced that it is investigating this attack as a war crime<\/a>, as defined by Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In a statistical table updated this Tuesday, the website of the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office indicates<\/a> that it has registered 209,432 war crimes perpetrated by the Russians<\/strong>. The Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office also indicates the number of minors among the victims of these crimes: since the beginning of the invasion, Russia has already killed 680 Ukrainian children and injured 2,358.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is surprising to consult the media and see that these crimes are going unnoticed in many countries<\/strong>. The great attention that many media outlets paid to the figures provided by the terrorist organization Hamas after the Israeli response to the attack of October 7, 2023, contrasts sharply with a staggering lack of interest from many media outlets in Russian crimes in Ukraine and, specifically, in the murders of children, which are almost never reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The same can be said of the political and social sphere. In recent years, we have seen politicians and activists, relying on Hamas data, accuse Israel of \"genocide,\"<\/strong> giving credence to unverified information supplied by the terrorist organization that, on October 7, 2013, murdered entire Jewish families in their homes, including children and babies. None of these politicians and activists have once accused Russia of \"genocide,\"<\/strong> despite having more than enough evidence of the systematic attacks by Russian invaders against the civilian population of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

This invasion is exposing a scandalous double standard<\/strong>, which only seems willing to give credence to reports of alleged war crimes when the accusations are directed against a Jewish state and come from an Islamist terrorist organization. When a democratic country like Ukraine offers evidence of Russian war crimes, many of those who accused Israel fall silent.<\/strong> Is this because there are no Jews in Ukraine to accuse of these crimes, or perhaps because the information does not come from a terrorist organization?<\/p>\n
