In a few days, it will be four years since the start of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. A war that changed everything.<\/p>\n
That war marked the beginning of a second Cold War. Western countries have finally realized the threat Russia poses to peace<\/strong>, and have therefore begun a process of rearmament to defend themselves against further Russian aggression against allied countries. The concept is very simple and has existed since ancient Rome: if you desire peace, you must prepare for war, especially when a powerful nation is threatening you.<\/strong> But there are still political leaders who are either unaware of the situation created by this invasion or pretend not to be.<\/p>\n Yesterday, the President of the Spanish Government, the socialist Pedro S\u00e1nchez, delivered a regrettable speech at the Munich Security Conference<\/strong>, in which he rejected<\/a> the idea that European countries should invest in nuclear deterrence while threatened by a nuclear power like Russia. According to the Moncloa Palace's report, S\u00e1nchez proposed that \"the nuclear powers sit down, negotiate, and stop a new arms race.\"<\/em><\/strong> And what are we supposed to do if Putin refuses to budge? What kind of negotiation is it where one side insists on displaying weakness in front of a bully?<\/strong><\/p>\n In his regrettable speech, S\u00e1nchez rebuked other Western leaders<\/a> with these words: \"Prevent the launch of a new arms race while it is still possible<\/strong>. Humanity will judge you if you do not.\"<\/em> While saying this, Russia continues its war of aggression against Ukraine and is further arming itself for future aggression. What does S\u00e1nchez expect Europe to do to stop a bully who only understands the language of force?<\/strong> He himself made it clear by uttering these words that demonstrate his disconnect from reality: \"the most necessary rearmament in the world is moral rearmament\"<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Firstly, S\u00e1nchez doesn't seem the most suitable person to talk about \"moral rearmament\"<\/strong>, considering that his government is mired in corruption scandals<\/a> and that he, far from responding as one would expect from a democratic politician, is exhibiting an absolute lack of scruples<\/strong>, attacking judges and the media and threatening censorship on social media in a clumsy attempt to silence those investigating these corruption cases and those who criticize his government. Furthermore, what will S\u00e1nchez do if Russia attacks an allied country? Give a sermon? Sing \"Imagine\"?<\/strong><\/p>\n Of course, S\u00e1nchez doesn't adopt this hippie attitude by chance: his government is the only one in the European Union with communists in its cabinet<\/strong>. Let's remember that the Spanish far left has been favoring the Kremlin's interests for years<\/a>, implementing a policy of boycotting the West from within that is very beneficial to Putin. Furthermore, S\u00e1nchez is one of the best European allies of communist China<\/a>, which in turn is Russia's biggest ally.<\/strong> S\u00e1nchez combines this affinity with the world's largest dictatorship with a policy of open hostility towards our biggest ally, the United States.<\/strong><\/p>\n S\u00e1nchez's affinity with the enemies of the West has consequences. A year ago I already reviewed here the favors S\u00e1nchez has been doing for Russia<\/a>, such as buying Russian gas while prohibiting its extraction in Spain, buying Russian oil through Morocco, and the torpedoing of the judicial investigation into Russian interference in the 2017 Catalan separatist coup<\/a>. Now, while Vladimir Putin's dictatorship continues to murder Ukrainian civilians, while our NATO allies on the eastern flank rearm to defend themselves against future Russian aggression, S\u00e1nchez is sabotaging the defense of Europe and doing Putin a great favor<\/strong>, acting like the pacifist demagogues who sabotaged the defense of the West during the first Cold War, thus favoring the USSR.<\/p>\n Having a prime minister like S\u00e1nchez is a disgrace for Spain<\/strong>, both internally (as can be seen in the degradation of democracy in Spain at the hands of his government and even in the deterioration of Spanish infrastructure<\/a> due to his terrible management) and externally. S\u00e1nchez is dragging Spain's image through the mud, turning us into Putin's useful idiots in Europe at a time when our allies aren't in the mood to listen to hippie sermons, but need help and resources to guarantee their survival in case of an attack. What S\u00e1nchez is doing is the same thing that the proponents of appeasement did with Hitler: favoring the aggressor<\/strong> and trying to morally disarm the allied countries, a perverse betrayal that he perpetrates, in the height of cynicism, while proposing a \"moral rearmament\" to us.<\/strong><\/p>\n ---<\/p>\n
