For example, demonizing all foreigners is called xenophobia. Doing something similar to all people who are not of your race is racism. The left usually labels these two generalizations as "hate speech," but nevertheless, many leftists have no qualms about criminalizing half of humanity simply for being men. Although some may be unaware of this word, since it is rarely used, demonizing men for being men is called misandry, and it is just as unjust and despicable as xenophobia and racism.

This Friday, Helena Resano made an infamous misandrist speech on the leftist channel La Sexta (you can see the video at the link and also here). Before several photos of men accused of various crimes against women (two of whom haven't even been prosecuted for these accusations), Resano stated: "We want to reflect. What's wrong with you? And I'm asking you, the men, because the atmosphere is unbearable. Here are the faces of some of the men who have shown that they treat women like merchandise, like their merchandise, or even worse."

After reviewing the accusations against the men whose photos were behind her (I repeat: some aren't even facing legal proceedings), Resano concluded her statement by emphasizing her generalization: "So the question is necessary: What's wrong with you?" Note a curious detail in the image: among the men chosen by La Sexta, not a single one of the socialist leaders recently accused of alleged sexual harassment appeared. Was this an oversight, or were they trying to avoid criticism for not addressing "the socialists" in their statement?

It is very revealing to note that in its report on that hate speech, La Sexta omitted the reference its presenter made to "the men". Perhaps the leftist channel realized that Resano had gone too far and tried to conceal her unfair accusation, in which she addressed all men?

Let's imagine for a moment what would have happened if a presenter on La Sexta had asked what was wrong with "the Muslims," "the Black peopple," "the Basques," or "the Gypsies," accusing them all of the crimes committed by a minority. The scandal, naturally, would have been enormous. Why are men supposed to endure this hate speech? Men are the vast majority of husbands, fathers, and brothers who care for and treat with dignity the women in their families and all women they encounter. Men are also the majority of police officers who prosecute these crimes against women, and many of the judges who hand down sentences punishing these crimes. Does La Sexta believe they should also be accused?

Obviously, it's very easy to launch misandrist attacks against your audience, pointing the finger at millions of anonymous men who have never harmed women, knowing they won't be able to respond. It's very easy and very cowardly. It's worth remembering, by the way, that the burden of proof lies with the accuser. What kind of evidence does La Sexta have against the millions of men to whom it directed this hateful rhetoric, leading to such accusations?

I'll make it very easy for you. You don't have to look far. How many men employed at La Sexta have abused, raped, or killed women? Of course, I'm not accusing any of them—I'm not Helena Resano—but since a presenter at La Sexta believes she's in a position to accuse "men," she can at least tell us what evidence or indications she has against those who work at her own channel. Or against the men in her family and circle of friends. By the way, I don't know what they think about her demonizing them on camera in such a disgusting way simply for having a penis.

Of course, I expect La Sexta to issue a public apology for that infamous speech. It's the same thing I would rightfully do with any presenter who made a xenophobic or racist speech. I also expect the courts and regulatory bodies to take action against La Sexta, just as they would if that presenter had made such a speech against women, foreigners, Black people, or Arabs. Or are there "hate speeches" that are valid for those who rail against them every day?

Generalizations are unfair statements that demonize an entire social group for the crimes of some of its members.

[10720
10385,26305,210,11359
post-63598","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-communication","tag-feminism","tag-helena-resano","tag-la-sexta","tag-misandry
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
