This is the first helicopter specifically designed for attack missions in the Spanish Army's fleet, which previously used an armed variant of the MBB Bo-105 for these missions. <strong>The Spanish Tigers are part of the 1st Attack Helicopter Battalion (BHELA I)<\/strong>, based in Almagro (Ciudad Real).<\/p>\n<p>This attack helicopter <strong>carries two crew members seated in tandem:<\/strong> the pilot sits in front and the gunner behind, unlike what is usual in other gunships. The pilot can aim the aircraft's cannon with <strong>the helmet-mounted Thales TopOwl, a high-tech piece of equipment<\/strong> that integrates night vision, providing excellent visibility in the worst conditions and with high resolution.
