It consists of valleys known as the Machynlleth Loop, although aviation enthusiasts often refer to it as the \"Mach Loop\".<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182555550_85727afc9d_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182555550_cdcbcc9e9c_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>This location is a \"Low Flying Area\" where military aircraft can fly at an altitude of less than 2,000 feet (609 meters)<\/strong> and at a maximum speed of 450 knots (833 km\/h), from 08:00 to 23:00 on weekdays.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182412689_8575beab8f_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182412689_59ed1d3266_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last week, Polish Air Force F-16C fighter jets flew through the Mach Loop<\/strong> as part of their participation in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raf.mod.uk\/news\/articles\/what-is-exercise-cobra-warrior-2026\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Exercise Cobra Warrior<\/a>, organized by the Royal Air Force (RAF) and held from March 16-17. <a href=\"https:\/\/31blt.wp.mil.pl\/aktualnosci\/precyzja-i-wspoldzialanie-w-powietrzu\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The 31st Tactical Air Base in Krzesiny published a news report about this exercise on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55181263937_14b0b91248_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55181263937_e58f640bb0_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On March 24, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/31BLT\/posts\/pfbid02C8xNnUFqSQko8oabtqfZeEeQybNSoxRznLNQGAr78tYQHcWvNsyA3nPBcjGdm5dkl?__cft__[0]=AZZhKoNKK0lo8QVdk2dZssObFB3kSGiDtnr7nuEfJJ5WyB0928hRghvkLZyv4yJi0irTEuCsT7t_sy2EdG7jPXd7TfCOGmwZOf5UwhgO64ZHsAsT9rP878m6zVwDCLyJgm0ChlcBptrl-HvolLQp2BdFb9ejERpGsBwlCQmG_CjpI3urivv7V6jfpj8w7vsO63c&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Facebook page of that Polish base published the photos you can see here of those F-16Cs in the Mach Loop<\/a>. They were taken by Captain Pawe\u0142 Krzeszkiewicz and Sergeant Marcin Kurkus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182412689_8575beab8f_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182412689_59ed1d3266_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These photos show F-16Cs 4043, 4050, and 4051. Additionally, the aforementioned base published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/31BLT\/posts\/pfbid02rcmonC27bti93ERgYB3bmyMZZtEHR8nyAuX5mB9Vf67x3f5ssBHXLGriocFQEUFEl?__cft__[0]=AZYNfq-9lhqCzNdKfnmCRmKiJknxTZael98hT3vrRAsXAqhH3Hk7ZB30U4OZ5gJo4idRLWD_KiVTDjqtPMKzUuCxc1ThsleFJSTChlmnU7uHEexAMwZCS2AFSUiF8-dwySirv8Tj4ZZX8BS1HWrsgSJyfPOcYuKLd4tnnvzewnT6nXRPtQDOsWVk3CADfklkqNA&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a second series of photos<\/a>, taken by Sergeant Marcin Kurkus, also show F-16Cs 4043, 4045, and 4049. As seen in the images, <strong>the aircraft were armed with AIM-120 AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182321503_4e7561129b_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182321503_3f926ee14c_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The F-16 is nicknamed Jastrz\u0105b (Falcon) in the Polish Air Force, although the mascot of the 31st Tactical Air Base is a raven<\/strong>, a bird historically associated with wisdom and observation in Poland and which appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C5%9Alepowron_coat_of_arms\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the \u015alepowron<\/a>, a coat of arms used by various Polish noble families during the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. One of the Polish pilots carried a stuffed raven in his cockpit for this reason.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182412694_106ef847dc_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182412694_8d299734ae_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the regular photographers at that location, Welshman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@DafyddPhillips\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dafydd Phillips<\/a>, <strong>has published a video today showing these Polish Air Force F-16C fighters in the Mach Loop<\/strong>, specifically 4050 and 4052. The Polish Air Force deployed at least 7 of its 36 F-16 Block 52+ aircraft to the UK, a considerable deployment:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"AMAZING POLISH F-16s TEAR UP THE MACH LOOP - 4K\" width=\"665\" height=\"374\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lXAYy3hMjh0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the second series of photos released by 31st Air Base, we can see two particularly symbolic ones. In one of them, we see <strong>F-16C 4045 taking off from RAF Waddington<\/strong> with the Red Arrows' BAE Hawks following behind. The RAF's fixed-wing aerobatic team is based there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182154396_a6ae054467_o.jpg\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/55182154396_c151f78fee_z.jpg\" style=\"width:100%; height:auto; border:0px;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, <strong>at RAF Waddington, two Polish F-16Cs took this photo with an Avro Vulcan bomber<\/strong>.
