Once again, the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) is organizing the Flintlock international special operations exercise with African countries.<\/p>\n

Spanish participation in an elite military exercise organized by the US in Africa<\/a><\/rel>
\nElite military groups from Spain, the US and other countries in a training in Africa<\/a><\/rel><\/p>\n

This exercise involves hundreds of military personnel from 30 countries, including Spain. This year's exercise is taking place in Ivory Coast and, for the first time, in Libya.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yesterday, the Spanish Defence Staff (EMAD) reported the presence of the maritime action vessel (BAM) \"Furor\" P-46 in Ivory Coast<\/a>, as part of a coordinated maritime presence operation in the Gulf of Guinea. During this mission, the \"Furor\" coincided a few weeks ago with the Portuguese Navy patrol vessel NRP Centauro P1155.<\/strong> They can be seen together in this photo published by the EMAD on April 6, in which Spanish sailors can be seen aboard the Portuguese vessel flying a Spanish flag.<\/p>\n

The EMAD has not reported on the participation of the \"Furor\" in Flintlock 2026<\/strong>, but this participation came to light yesterday with a series of photos<\/a> published by the U.S. Army on the U.S. Armed Forces' multimedia portal, DVIDShub.net. These photos show an assault exercise by special forces from African countries on the BAM \"Furor\" in Ivory Coast.<\/strong> All the photos were taken on April 16.<\/p>\n

Two operators from the 1st Commando Battalion (BATCODOS) of the Senegalese Army inside the BAM \"Furor\".<\/strong> BATCODOS was created in 1963 and has companies specializing in paratrooper, nautical, bush, and mountain operations.<\/p>\n

Another elite Senegalese soldier during the assault on the \"Furor\".<\/strong> Based on the camouflage pattern and insignia, he appears to be an operator from the Compagnie de Fusilier Marin Commando (COFUMACO) of the Senegalese National Navy.<\/p>\n
