Frankly, it is sometimes very difficult to understand the positions of many leaders of the Popular Party (PP) in Spain.<\/p>\n
On May 17, the elections to the Parliament of Andalusia resulted in a victory for the Popular Party (PP) without an absolute majority<\/a>, as well as a rise for Vox and a collapse for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), mired in a serious wave of corruption scandals<\/strong>. Many media outlets assumed that the pacts between the PP and Vox seen in other regions of Spain could be repeated in Andalusia, but eight days later, the president of the Andalusian PP has not even called Vox<\/a>.<\/p>\n Today, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla<\/strong>, the president of the PP in Andalusia, confirmed that he is in no hurry to talk to Vox and expressed his desire for a pact with the PSOE<\/a>, citing European institutions as a model. Moreno has championed an agreement \"between disparate political forces,\" but not referring to Vox, rather to the socialists<\/strong>, pointing to the case of the European Committee of the Regions, chaired by the Hungarian Socialist Kata Tutto, of which Moreno is vice-president: \"Kata Tutto is from the Party of European Socialists and I am from the European People's Party, and we understand each other, and that is the best way to build together. It saddens me that such an example cannot exist in Spain<\/strong>.\"<\/em><\/p>\n It is at least amusing that Moreno describes the PP and the PSOE as \"disparate political forces\"<\/strong>, considering that both parties are very similar ideologically speaking: they share positions on issues such as abortion, gender ideology<\/strong>, state interventionism, climate catastrophism and even mass immigration<\/strong>, as the PP has demonstrated today by rejecting a Vox initiative in Elche against the mass regularization of immigrants<\/a> carried out by the government of Pedro S\u00e1nchez and which contemplates giving papers to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants. In that vote, the PP joined its votes with those of the PSOE and the nationalists of Comprom\u00eds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
