In December 1997, the Madrid Community Fire Department formed a group specializing in mountain rescues.<\/p>\n

Called the Special High-Altitude Rescue Group (GERA), this unit operates a Eurocopter AS-355N\/NP Ecureuil 2 helicopter<\/strong> (currently designated H125 by Airbus), the EC-NPV, belonging to the company Sky Helicopteros<\/a>. This aircraft is based at the CERA facilities in Navacerrada.
